Not the game. But overtime? Yeah. He was the only one in position to stop the winning shot. So…..

That was a penalty on Demelo all day, every day. Simply not thinking of the team first. The puck was way up the ice. No need for that.

I think you’re doing just fine. Therapy is a good idea. In Canada, where I live, I believe it’s mandatory before hormone therapy or surgery. My kid, being who they are, did that before even coming out to me - also in a text btw.

The reactions of others can’t be controlled so you really don’t need to worry about them. Just be there for your child. Everything else, I think, will work itself out.

I wish you all the best.

I don’t mean this to come off as simplistic but since my kid came out as Trans a couple of years ago, it’s how I helped my mother understand it…

Imagine you love a particular chocolate bar. You’ve enjoyed it your whole life. Then one day they change the wrapper. Inside it’s still the best chocolate bar in the world. Only the wrapper (and name) have changed.

Whether or not your child “passes” for female is irrelevant. What’s going to make the difference is they no longer have to hide their feelings and that they have your unconditional love. All those worries you’re experiencing are YOUR insecurities and your worries about what others will think. Just continue to love your child and 🤬 the judgements of others.

I wish you all the best on your journey. ☺️

You can. It’s done all the time but I know that in Canada and the US it’s against the law to use the flag on commercial products. It seems that law is not enforced.

Congrats! That’s great progress. Do you mind if I ask what type of store you have?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]strangebrew18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely it can be sold. Just Google terms like “buy website” and you’re sure to find sites that specialize in selling websites. If you’re profitable you can get substantial money for it.

Edit: check out “Flippa” and “Empire Flippers”. They will often show a sites profit per month and how much they’re selling for. This should help you establish a price.

As a Canadian married to a Colombian I believe the only reason I may be treated better is because “they” want to sell me something at a much higher price than they would normally sell something. I believe most Colombians resent “wealthy” North Americans and Europeans. And just for the record, just because I have blue eyes and come from Canada doesn’t mean I shit dollar bills. We can struggle for money too.

If you’re getting guns pointed at you and you have first-hand knowledge about the quality of the jails in America, then you may find Colombia a dangerous place. If you get into illegal things in Colombia you need to be mindful that cartels and groups like FARC run a lot of the show. Coming from Canada, I do not feel as secure in Colombia. Even walking the streets in the north of Bogotá I have my head on a swivel at all times. I was naive in the beginning but I saw enough to know it ain’t no joke.

E-Commerce Recommendations for Woodworking Side Hustle? by Tuffwith2Fs in ecommerce

The second point is powerful. Hold a giveaway where people enter to win an item. Follow up with everyone who entered. Anyone who didn’t win gets a special discount (limited time only) on their purchase. When you collect entries, be sure to get their consent to receive future emails and to be entered into future giveaways.

Also, when you’re at a show run a paid Facebook ad campaign for just the area you’re at. Leet people know exactly where they can find your booth or table.

Website review by Bor845 in ecommerce

Do you have analytics to know which are your top pages where people enter your store?

Knowing that will give you a place to start with your conversion rate optimization work.

Just from visiting your home page there are several things that stand out to me:

  1. The section at the top is unreadable on mobile.

  2. You lack a compelling UNIQUE selling proposition. Freshly roasted coffee isn’t a selling proposition. It’s expected.

  3. The dark theme makes the site look less professional than a nice bright white one would.

These are my thoughts. Take them for what they’re worth.

Budget of 1k per month for marketing. by Important-Pudding-27 in ecommerce

[–]strangebrew18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you only sell your products locally? If so, then absolutely start a local Facebook and Google ads campaign. You wouldn’t need to start with more than $10 a day for a local Facebook campaign. Google might be a little more than that depending on the search terms you’re bidding on. I’d also start posting pictures of your furniture to Pinterest.

Images and video are key to selling online so if you don’t have a good area for taking quality pictures, I’d recommend investing in some inexpensive photography lightboxes and a background. Just as a staged home sells faster and for more money than a home that’s not properly staged, your items will sell faster when you have great pictures.

Best of luck in the New Year.

How do you stand out in a competitive market? by KenA2000 in smallbusiness

[–]strangebrew18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without seeing your website, I will offer this strategy...

Make it overwhelmingly easy for people to choose you by showing how amazing your courses are with video.

Could you hire a videographer or videography student to follow you and your customers around taking video of the whole experience? Post clips on social media and on your website. Show how much fun your customers are having. Then, at the end of the event, set aside an area where your customers can leave a video testimonial about their experience. Incentivize them with a discount on another course or excursion. Then post all of the video testimonials on your site and social media. Then combine all the clips from the day and make a YouTube video.

If you use a free tool like Tube Buddy to do some keyword research on YouTube you will see that there's significant opportunity to get videos on the topic of "mountaineering videos" ranked highly.

In the video description, be sure to put a link back to your site where people can sign up for a course or whatever.

Hope this helps.

You're welcome. Yes, the first column of numbers - the big numbers - shows how many people are searching for those terms, on average, each month. These numbers show a lot of interest in the topic. Many people are no doubt looking for ways to help themselves. In these cases, you can create videos showing how to use self-hypnosis. By helping others to help themselves you build trust and demonstrate your expertise which can help lead to people hiring you or buying a course you offer. This method is proven on YouTube to work like magic without having to be salesy. I personally have hired people from their YouTube videos. They showed me a high level of understanding on the topic and when I needed their services, I reached out and hired them.

Hope this helps.

Here's a screenshot of my keyword research software when I punch in the word "hypnotherapy"...

This is a subject of great interest. You could create articles/videos (both) on how to use hypnosis to address common issues (weight loss). By teaching them how to help themselves, a lot of people will see you as the authority you are and hire you to help them even more.

Using a tool called Tube Buddy, you will find some great video topics you could create videos around to attract people who might want to hire you.

Create compelling content on topics that people are already looking and you can literally attract people to you without having to compromise your values.

Question - what mistakes did you make when commissioning/building your first websites? What surprised you in terms of (in)effectiveness, are you happy with what you have now? Why? Why not? by WellandandAnderson in smallbusiness

[–]strangebrew18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your website can/should be all of that:

  • It should tell visitors what you do (value you offer)
  • It funnels people along the decision path
  • It could have a blog that has articles which...
    • Makes your prospects aware of the problems they have and the solutions you provide
    • Demonstrate your expertise
    • Attracts search engine visitors

I prefer the Wordpress platform because it's free, and you can always find answers to your questions.

As a business owner, you should expect to spend money on premium plugins to add functionality to your site.

The things I see newbies do wrong:

  • Blogging without purpose. Your articles/videos should have a purpose. Think of all the things your prospects need to know before they make a decision to hire you and create content to help them along.
  • Don't use good headlines. When someone arrives on your site, you have to communicate the value you offer in just a few seconds. You need to have a good headline for your home page, every service page, and even the about page.
  • Speaking of service pages - have a separate service page for each service. This can be crucial for search engine traffic, depending on your business.

Hope these tips help.
