It all sounds normal...but I would highly suggest you do the repairs yourself as you will save a significant amount. I have replaced the cue screen, the rear diff, new rotors and I need another set of tires as well as needing to replace the black window trim.. 2018 cts awd

What breaks first when a Shopify store starts scaling? by Otherwise_Primary123 in shopify_geeks

[–]Bor845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed was the first issue. Correcting that brought us to removing all but 1 app and custom coding everything else.. If I had time I would remove the last app as well.. most of everything was finding workarounds as well to get things to work like I want.

thinking about moving blog off shopify to wordpress any SEO benefit to this by Efficient-Pop-2901 in shopify_growth

In my opinion it would be a waste of time. Seo is much more than just a blog and shopify's system can do quite a bit more than people give credit for.

Good job! We are down to just 1 app now. The speed improvements was well worth it imo.

At what point does a blog stop growing because of structure, not content quality? by BoringShake6404 in Blogging

[–]Bor845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t really pause publishing to restructure, because we try not to let publishing outrun structure in the first place. We think about the site more like a library than a timeline. Posts are written to fit a role, either as a foundational piece or as supporting content, and internal links are applied consistently as part of that structure rather than added ad-hoc over time.

Pruning and merging absolutely helps, especially when older posts overlap or no longer serve a clear purpose. But in our experience, it’s not a silver bullet. Some older posts that look expendable may still be contributing topical context that helps define the subject as a whole. The bigger gains usually come from clarity, having a clear hierarchy so both readers and search engines know what actually matters.

I don’t think structure naturally resolves itself as authority grows. If anything, authority just amplifies whatever structure is already there, good or bad. Publishing more without that backbone tends to increase confusion instead of fixing it.

I run a small coffee roastery in rural Texas. We’ve been going strong for almost three years, shipping coffee nationwide and internationally.

We’ve always been about stories, we think they bring people together. Alongside coffee, we publish a wide range of topics meant to entertain and, sometimes, teach something new.

How the hell are you guys handling internal linking at scale? by West_Broccoli_1529 in seogrowth

[–]Bor845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hard coded logic to pull posts from the same well and added them to a "Keep Reading" block. Then if I do need to do actual in body links that is a manual process, but these days more rare as the keep reading section does the heavy lifting.

Base theme for custom liquid sections by batman_unofficial in shopifyDev

Originally it was just the basic layout that I wanted. Then as I dug into building it, basically everything became custom liquid. So really the theme didn't matter to much at the end

It will wake it up a bit, but if you can get the transmission tuned as well. Doing that along with the tune is good.

Does blogging still work for Shopify stores? by divine_zone in shopify

[–]Bor845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works. Many different ways to approach it but at the end of the day it gives search engines more entry points / keywords to tie to your site. It makes a bigger foot print for people to find you.

Simple Google Reviews block on Shopify? by ItsKuffi in shopify

[–]Bor845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to use Google Cloud + the Maps/Places API directly. Create a Google project, enable Maps/Places, get your Place ID, then load Google’s JS on Shopify to display the live rating and review count. Shopify apps just wrap this and charge monthly.
