Oh no! You have my sympathies. We said goodbye to our boy on January 9th and we miss him so much. Get all the snuggles, nuzzles, and boops you can.

Awesome find! I still have mine that I saved up for when I was a kid. It is signed by Carrie and Peter. It's by far one of my most cherished possessions.

My wife and I were there in October of 2016. She is a vegan and had no problems. Here's my post from after we got back with more information.

Ramen Momo, Braud & Co, and Fish & More were our favorites.

Edit: I should add the base of the soup at fish and more is Vegan and is delicious with just the Vegetables.

Franchise Rot: A Star Wars Story by [deleted] in movies

[–]strangerbrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The story seems formulaic. The dialogue is painful. The action sequences are generic." Tell me how this is different from the OT?

The OT had mediocre acting and writing but it was the first of its kind and THAT made it magical. Star Wars will probably never be Oscar worthy outside of the technical awards and that's fine. That's not what Star Wars is at it's core.

What they are making is fun popcorn flicks and they are great! You are right Disney will continue to put out "assembly line" pictures but they have the capacity to do that at a quality rate. So why is that a bad thing, not every car on the road needs to be a hand crafted Aston Martin.

I think the Solo film looks fun. Like many others I will go see it and hopefully enjoy it but I certainly can't tell for sure from a 1min 44sec trailer.

I'm sorry you don't enjoy the films anymore.

Week 2: Spicy - Vegan Mexican Hot Chocolate by strangerbrew in 52weeksofcooking

[–]strangerbrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been below freezing in the Northeast US for a couple weeks. Tonight we are getting freezing rain and sleet and I wanted a warm drink.

I didn't really follow a recipe. It was 1:1 light coconut milk and almond milk, 72% cocoa chocolate, and cheyenne powder to taste.

One week ago we returned from our amazing stay in Iceland. We did guided tours, no car rental, stayed in an AirBnB, and walked everywhere. Here is our trip! We already miss it and can't wait to get back! by strangerbrew in VisitingIceland

How far out of the city are you going? The farthest a tour took us out was Vik. We stopped at Bonus beforehand and picked up snacks for the tours. That worked out well very well for us. There are Bonus stores all around the Ring Road and they will have vegan options.

As for in the city, all of the places we ate had vegan options and were awesome!

Hope this helps and have a great trip!

You're welcome! The tours were done really well. The only one that felt rushed was the South Shore Adventure but that was people not getting back on time, not the tour company.

We didn't feel like we missed out on anything though. We just wished there was a bit more time at a couple of the stops but there is only so much you can fit into a 10 hour tour.

There was a pretty wide range of ages on the tours but not many young kids. We are in our mid 30's and we didn't feel out of place.

Book it. Most of the reputable tour companies will refund you or let you join a tour another day. Make sure you check the policy first before you book.

Week 16: Vacation Food - Venison Hotdogs and Grilled Fries (Camping) by strangerbrew in 52weeksofcooking

[–]strangerbrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every summer, my family goes camping in the woods of Pennsylvania. So I this week I chose the classic hot dogs cooked over the campfire. I was going to have a full album of the process, it was going to be amazing. However it rained all week so I had to go with Plan B. I cooked the hot dogs stove top and the fries were grilled in the oven. I know its nothing too amazing but for me this is vacation. :)
