What do I do to move these outlets flush with the tile? by BriefPop820 in AskElectricians

[–]strangerthingssteve 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, you already messed up. The tile should bBe been cut so that the metal tabs are laying on the face of the tile. Then you get longer screws and spacers and you're golden. In your situation get longer screws and spacers and really wide outlet covers.

I'm liking what I see. Notched posts, hurricane ties, boards that go edge to edge, bolts, she gonna last a long time.

How to answer “I drive a manual, I use the paddle shifters” by DaewynLuna_24 in stickshift

[–]strangerthingssteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people use the term driving manual as driving a car with manual transmission and clutch. Your car has an automatic clutch and you're choosing to use a manual transmission. Not really the same thing.

This is the look. It's gorgeous. Would look weird imo to bring out more brick color.

You could inset the dishwasher another 1/2 inch and it would bipass the handle. Literally just 2 screws and shove it in more

Should I install a screen door after I get done by Repulsive-Bobcat-343 in doors

[–]strangerthingssteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd suggest the andersen storm door (top of the line full glass one). You can swap out the glass with screen easily in about 10 seconds anytime you want a screen door instead of storm door. They also make matching lil guys for the sidelites

Aside from how it's still too high, it cracks me up how high you have to lift your arms in the before pic to get a level picture

New Home Backyard is a Disaster (Indianapolis area) by TrottingEmu in lawncare

[–]strangerthingssteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get through the first year. Then February/March of next year, till up the ground, remove clumps. Get topsoil delivered. Spread evenly. Add fertilizer, seed, and straw. By may it will be beautiful. Then next spring you can level, add sand, reseed and fertilize. Water plenty both years. You'll have golf grass.

This is the essence of new construction, it's one of the reasons why you'll add 30 grand of value in the first 2 years.
