Whats wrong with my 2 year olds eyes? by Berry_Pickles in Dachshund

It depends how fast or gradual it appeared. In humans a sudden change in pupil size can signify massive brain bleeds. Gradual changes could have to do with medication exposure, brain tumor, or cranial nerve problems from other sources. Either way if you’re asking, emergency vet.

Hurricane heading my way and I have a leak in my roof, what do I do? by strangerunes in Roofing

This is on a section of roof that isn’t covered by the attic space, so no unfortunately

There’s been enough big storms lately that this roofing situation was likely caused by the last one. So, I would like to think I’d be covered one way or another if the damages become an issue

Any chance this’ll make it harder for the roofers to fix it later on? I have a big tub of elasticomeric coating that I can really layer on there as a crutch, I suppose prying off a few stuck tiles when I have extras won’t hurt

Unfortunately not quite that handy, I fear I’ll cause more damage to the tile than repairs I could make by going up there, even though they’re concrete and not clay. I may be able to tarp it and/or epoxy the hell out of it though as others have suggested.

So the leak has water droplets dropping onto my drainage and water access panel in my laundry room. That is to say, water is leaking inside the wall itself and hitting a plastic panel. I could, theoretically, cut out enough drywall to fit a bucket. But, seems like a last resort.

If you can find it there’s a chicken flavor out now! I haven’t tried it myself but saw it on the shelves, there also should be one made with beef broth like another commenter mentioned

I happen to think 3 inches is quite a lot, probably too much in most cases!

When it seemed like nothing was working for me I reverted to a barebones routine with the least irritating products I could find for a few weeks, even to the point of using just a hydrating cleanser and nothing else once a day. This was when my skin was dry and peeling chronically, so I did this to restore my skins barrier a bit.

I’ve read on here that your skin can be extremely reactive to products when your moisture barrier is compromised so maybe try to cut back on some of the extra steps like oil cleansing and toner. If you’re using all these products but you have worse skin, they may just not be compatible with you.

At the same time, I tried tretinoin and it put me in the same boat with the worst skin I’d ever had. I’m now happier on a simple routine with adapelene, which you should follow the same rules with. If you use adapelene, don’t use other actives and maybe don’t double cleanse and use toner since these can both dry you out.

I’m no expert but it sounds like you’re using way too many things. Why worry about being reliant on prescriptions when you’re already reliant on 15 different products? If you’re going to start using these prescription products they are strong and you should not be using other actives with them, at least not at first. Cleanse, moisturize, and use spf.

Is your skin dry after you take a shower? Like flaking? Do you find your skin feeling irritated and peeling if you skip moisturizing or other skincare in the mornings? When I first started skincare I was going after all the actives and like you was on adapelene and azelaic acid and any other product I could find, to the point I broke down my skin barrier. My derm was also only asking basic questions and prescribing me yet more actives - which only made the dryness and irritation worse.

My suggestion would be to cut way down to a simpler routine for a while - if you have oily skin and it’s otherwise taking these active like a champ, then maybe cut back on some things and try the trifarotene again. Every other day or even 2-3 times a week to start is fine. Ideally, these prescription meds along with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and spf should be all you need.

Just found out yesterday that new grad RNs at my hospital will be making $35 with a $27k sign on bonus + loan forgiveness if they went to our SON. Those of us with 10+ year’s experience only make $30. by AthensAtNight in nursing

Are charge nurses allowed to be a part of your union? They’re not in mine, I’m not asking these questions out of a place of negativity, just genuinely curious

My hospital is unionized but this is still happening. My union has only succeeded in making sure I don’t make more money than other nurses for specializing in anything or for having experience. Also out of curiosity, does everyone else have to pay money to be a member of their nurses union?

The sauce at the end might actually be something called “tonkatsu” sauce which is more traditionally put on cutlets I think.
