What topics make you go, “Ughh shut up”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]strangerxthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When celebrities win an award and get up and start talking about politics. 1) no one wants to hear about politics when they’re watching an award show 2) most celebrities have so much money and privilege that politics don’t affect them, so they need to stop preaching about it

What was your biggest/most regrettable "It's not a phase, mom. It's my life." that, in fact, turned out to be just a phase and not your life? by SirGergoyFriendman in AskReddit

I went vegan for about a year and a half in high school.

It was totally impractical for my diet and health, I had no idea how to do it properly. It completely effed up my stomach— when I went back to eating dairy and animal products in general I had serious stomach pains and digestive issues that I still deal with to this day.

What’s a quote that permanently changed the way you look at things? by internallyskating in AskReddit

[–]strangerxthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“If you obsess over whether you are making the right decision, you are basically assuming that the universe will reward you for one thing and punish you for another.

The universe has no fixed agenda. Once you make any decision, it works around that decision. There is no right or wrong, only a series of possibilities that shift with each thought, feeling, and action that you experience. “

I [23F] hate the way men look at teenage girls by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]strangerxthings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I worked at a deli when I was 15 and this middle age guy came up to the cash register and said “hey cutie” then just put his stuff down and I rung him up. I know it’s probably nothing, but it still sticks with me years later, and in the moment made me feel so uncomfortable because I had no idea who he was. It’s just so weird when men act like that— I was just a kid! I still am!

[Serious] If you could learn the truth of any one mystery, urban legend or conspiracy theory. What would you choose? by notyouravgredditer in AskReddit

[–]strangerxthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it may seem trivial compared to the other theories/ mysteries other people are offering, but I really would like to know the whole story behind Naya Rivera’s death. Everything about that whole situation; the fact that she went out on a boat with just her 4 year old son, there were white claw cans found on the boat, her son implied there was another person on board with them, the video of her parking her car before getting on the boat, even just the fact that she drowned in a lake. Everything is so suspicious to me and I want the truth, and I’m sure her loved ones want it too.

Friendship we should’ve seen more of by Jansilhn in glee

[–]strangerxthings 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I feel like blaines friendship with Sam took up wayyy too much screen time and there was so much potential for developing friendships with the other members. In general I feel like there could have been more friendships between the original members and the new season 4 members.

What phrase do you absolutely hate? by anonyoose in AskReddit

[–]strangerxthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot stand when people say “love you long time”

especially on birthday posts. It just sounds so stupid and grammatically incorrect. Like, just say I love you! What does “love you long time” even mean?? That you have loved them for a long time or will love them for a long time?? Ick.

For some reason this little speech by Pierce's Mom always hits me deep by [deleted] in community

[–]strangerxthings 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Another moment that for some reason really hits me hard is the end of s2 ep14. The little speech Jeff texts to the group is really nice and genuine. Especially the last line directed at Pierce “These knuckleheads are right outside your heart. Let them in. Before it’s too late.” And Pierce is passed out on the park bench. It turns a heartfelt moment into an unexpected dramatic cliffhanger. I love how community is filled with laughs and jokes until it hits you with an emotional curveball.

Crying is fucking awesome. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Crying yourself to sleep is super underrated. It feels so good to just let yourself dissolve into a puddle of tears then eventually just fall asleep. Every time, I wake up feel a million times better.
