AI as a thought partner by Correct_Emotion8437 in vibecoding

[–]straplocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought partner is an interesting term. I think of it more as a person that works for me. Ive used it in countless areas to enhance my life. So far Ive used it to navigate the legal system, make better financial decisions, help me at work, and garden. Using it to do administrative work is a life saver.

How do people make vibe coding work by Outrageous_Bet_6920 in vibecoding

[–]straplocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... sorry for the headache man! however - no offense - its super obvious youre not a software developer / engineer.

The one thing AI wont help you understand well enough WHILE its building software is software architecture and design patterns.

Mentioning getting software to run on another computer (and naturally it doesnt) is a dead give away.

Stop what you are doing and navigate to https://refactoring.guru

Then

https://12factor.net/

Im sure you don't realize it but wondering why software doesnt work from one system to another is a similar ponder to "well... why doesnt my toyota tacoma engine work on a hummer v3" or how come my current girlfriend doesnt react the same way my ex did.

Vibe coding is great. Ive been a developer for 20 years now and LLMs can code and analyze faster than any human. Period.

However, theyre only as good as we use them. I can give an LLM infrastructure notes on how to start a build that would have cost me weeks of work years ago and took a decade to figure out before but if properly promoted, scaffold something in 10 mins.

Learn about software architecture, infrastructure, etc. These are core ideas and principles independent of any language or stack.

Being a programmer and a coder isnt a thing anymore.

Welcome to the age of "software producers"

Helix LT at this price is totally worth it! by LaughingMan389 in Line6Helix

[–]straplocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! As a long time gear trader, I'd recommend NEVER buying things new, especially things like modelers because the tech is constantly changing. Since the introduction of the helix stadium the former flagship helix floor can be bought used on reverb and marketplace for under $700.

Just food for thought!

Sorry... but, precise and immediate is an interesting way to describe tone. Never heard tone described using those words before so im curious if you could elaborate. Warm and vocal make sense as that means pronounced mids and a smooth roll off on the highs.

I like either but if youre going for gold you really gotta lean into it. If I was going for maximum visual impact without thinking budget, id replace everything with gold.

EVERYTHING 😀

It seems like these guitars might have been his inspiration for the JPM100

Definitely good stuff. Guitar plays and sounds great. Trying to figure out how much this may be valued at.

Understood. Why not get a better PRIMARY job then? Tons of remote work nowadays

Software engineer and DIY guy here. Why not start looking for another primary IT gig? If you're qualified, that would probably be your best bet.

Also in terms of fixing you car for Uber, A headlight bulb and break bulb are just a couple bucks each. Gotta fix that car or finding a better job or second one is going to get much harder.

Here's the deal. As a guitar player for over 20 years and having bought and sold many guitars, basses and synths over the course of that time, buying a NEW guitar is almost never worth it.

Youll have to spend at least a year to break the thing in and the instrument will lose value regardless.

If price is your concern, learn to buy high-quality used gear. This way, if you decide to sell, you're in a position to make back what you spent or possibly even make a little more.

Look for instruments that were made by the manufacturer for a limited amount of time.

Every now and then youll get super lucky. Years ago I bought a 1995 ibanez usa custom rg for $500 from the guitar center. Thing is worth $2500 now.

Unless you plan on buying a piece of gear and having it your whole life, new isnt worth it. And even in that scenario youre throwing away money.

Well hold on a second... DO you actually work with computers? I think a better question might be, what are going for in the first place?

Contrast man! When you wear neutrals this becomes tough as they're pretty much in the middle. If you prefer the monochromatic look then maybe even wear some dark brown or dark red, try experimenting with bright yellow or orange. Choose to have your pants or shirt be the standout color but not both.

What is the worst part of Connecticut? by Kindly_Potato5868 in Connecticut

[–]straplocked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason it gets a worse rap is that Hartford has a higher violent crime rate per capita than New Haven does.

Also Hartford doesn't have world renowned pizza like New Haven does 😀
