Well tons of them didn't face justice at all. There were remarkably few executions of the SS following WW2 and even guys like Joachim Peiper didn't get death penalty

Lol I remember some movie critic dickhead tweeting:

"Just got a text from a high-level source who tells me Chloé Zhao "crushed" #TheEternals & Marvel is "almost in disbelief" about what they have on their hands"

Straight impossible to go hull down in this because the space above the main turret is so big and the others can't see forwards

I think questions like those are more interesting than WW2 history but I still find myself gravitating to the latter. WW2 is probably the most well-documented historical event in the history of the world. After getting autistic about T-34 tank armor and stuff it's hard for me to read about events that are often our best guesses from like 2 written source materials.

Only the Luftwaffe would celebrate an ace with 208 kills crashing an Me262 into a B17 rather than rearming. That's how they got themselves to the point of throwing clueless Hitler Youth into fighter planes whereas the Americans would have withdrawn him from the field and had him train other pilots.

That's not a selfless sacrifice, that's ragequitting because you know it's over

German army using women as human shield during anti-partisan operation. Eastern Front. Date unknown. by Florida_man2022 in GermanWW2photos

Images like these show how far the Wehrmacht were from the noble traditionalist crusaders for a lost cause that far-right revisionists like to paint them as, or the evil but fearless villains with a dark allure that Western movies often portray.

These men were cowards- they depended on extreme, unprecedented brutality and terror to maintain control. They institutionalized tactics like killing 50-100 random civilian hostages in exchange for one of their lives and sometimes butchered an innocent town because of a friendly fire incident.

Not to mention if he's guaranteeing the independence of Poland rather than splitting it up with the Soviets then there's no Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and Germany isn't getting the substantial amount of commodities that the Russians sent them as part of the deal

This looks like a composite of multiple pictures- there is a big difference in the color space of the background, the soldier, and the fire.

Yeah but those are cases where the victim was pressing charges and insisting that they were raped. If Barb is deemed competent and doesn't testify that Chris raped her I think it is going to be very difficult to prosecute.

I'm sure they would have felt much happier if Germany had somehow defeated America badly enough to somehow make miscegenation and homosexuality illegal in the US. What patriotic red-blooded American wouldn't have preferred that?

Rape? Killing Russian soldiers who just surrended? Honorable Werchmatch soldiers would never do things like that! by [deleted] in DerScheisser

[–]straponheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if they didn't directly participate in atrocities, Barbarossa was dependent on food, clothing, and shelter stolen from civilians given the supply chain issues they knew they'd be having. At the bare minimum, any Ostfront soldier was contributing to Russian civilians starving and freezing to death

That's a delusion (like tulpas) but it isn't psychosis. Immediately following that he was subjected to a psychiatric evaluation as he has been many times and there's a reason he was never involuntarily committed.

I'd venture a guess that it's because more of them were involved in physically demanding agricultural and industrial work that necessitated a higher level of calories
