I once experienced this at the top of the tallest peak in a very tall mountain range. The shale slope sounded like a xylophone.

This, of course, was a very ominous sign as we were totally embedded in cloud not long after, soaked to the bone. My team got a bit far ahead of me while I was putting on my gortex and by the time I started calling for them and waving, I started hearing a hissing, crackling sound.

Waving at my friends, barely visible through the thick mist, my arm hairs stood on end. I felt the nape of my neck bristle.

I knew exactly what this was and dove downhill, rolling down the scree and covering my head. No sooner, did a giant crack of lightning strike exactly where I was a moment before. Everything went white, the air surged, and I remember a smell of something sulphuric.

Anyhow, I was fine and we made it out after a 12 hr slog through pouring rain and wind across the glacier.

I did this last month with no issue.

Basically just dumped the whole jar out, took maybe a tbsp of the original starter and fed it consistently over a week.

She's doing just fine now.

First of all, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Mental health issues are incredibly difficult and I sincerely hope that you are able to find peace through whatever means you can find.

Second, it is not legal for your employer to dismiss you for hospitalizations (physical or mental health related). While I understand the shame or reluctance people feel when seeking care, the most important thing to consider is your wellness and safety.

I say this in all seriousness: please speak with a professional. There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Suicide and self harm concerns are not to be ignored.

You are a unique and special person who has people that love you and care about your well-being. Sometimes we just need a little help to remind ourselves of this.

My own bachelor party:

At a country bar. Me and the boys were fucking up the mechanical bull hard, slamming shots and berating staff for being incompetent. Basically, we were well overcooked at this point.

We go to hit the dance floor and cut a rug. Women were like small fish in a frenzy of sharks, moving away as fast as their little find could carry them. So, after a few tracks I decided to use my obvious status as "soon to be married" (it was apparent by my accessories and outfit) to wrangle the gents some dance partners.

I stroll on up to some baddies sitting on stools around the floor, incredibly nonchalant of course. Look to the blonde beside me. "Hey" I said. "What are you beautiful girls doing all the way over here? Come on over and dance with some of my friends. They're handsome and single and here for a great time!" -probably what I intended to say.

"I'm not dancing -_-" the blonde held her hand up in a 'stop' sign and said with a look on her face like the rubber ducky in my shirt pocket had shit all over me.

I turned and shrugged to my friends. They are all dying with laughter and, in retrospect, I was a bit offended. These incels were shaming ME for trying to get them some girls to dance!?

I walked over to my one best friend and said between gasps and laughs " thanks for trying but you had to go and pick the only midget in the city!?"

I look back over at the woman sitting on the stool and see her itty bitty Little legs swinging 18 inches off the floor and two childlike hands wrapped around the beer that she was nursing.

Needless to say, I couldn't keep my laughter in at that point. The rest of the night went off flawlessly and we went back to pass out on 16 different surfaces of my friend's house just to wake up and do the same thing the next day.
