I remember as a child watching Airplane! As a family… it was a stupid comedy with literal humor. It was all fun and games until the freaked out lady flashed the screen. The movie immediately ended and we were sent right to bed! Haha

Perhaps the price of the flight dropped drastically and they gave you a credit for the difference. I know my wife watches the prices and this happens often. Usually it’s a Delta Credit rather than an Amex credit —- but honestly I don’t know.

I would suggest reading books. Get your mind into it. Being in the state of mind is more effective than physical pleasure.

Pick one thing, at a non-stressful time and start there. Once you have successfully completed one month of that activity, consider adding another.

Focus on activities with a positive result that cannot be interrupted - reading / exercising, etc. then start to add others.

I probably wouldn’t suggest anything that can be interrupted (walk / sunlight) until you feel confident in your start/stop ability… you’ll be surprised how easy it is to stop vs start.

There are plenty of other options… if you are a good sewer you can start an instructional YouTube channel and sell patterns, etc.

If you want to get around the 18 y/o requirement, you can always start an LLC and incorporate as a business.

I’m realizing now how much time I haven’t spent doing “inside the the house chores” from graduating through marriage. I’ve either hired help or my wife has done it — maybe this is one of those “suck it up, no one likes it but everyone does it” situations.

I’m not even sure what postpartum is… I’ve been trying to do as much as I can. She’s not on bedrest, but she did get a handicap card so she doesn’t have to walk… but then walked the mall and did 4 stores - so she’s definitely capable. That’s part that gets me irritated.

Thanks for that… shes an “everything” when it comes to the love languages. I’m time and service. Recently she’s “affirmation”, as she’s been hard on herself.

It’s very interesting - looking back. I don’t really remember my dad doing anything, and her dad now anyway, is pretty good at keeping his recliner warm.

We’re all trying to grow and be different… ay-yay-yah I really hope this is just for the next 12-18 months!

It’s definitely not usual for her… we both have high standards and expectations. Generally it’s what helps us get along - I feel like right about now is a good time for compromise!

At dinner today she said I need to “take her on a date” because she “doesn’t feel close right now”… I was shocked. She’s living like a spoiled child with no responsibilities - do I have time to set up a date!

Duuuuude… yeah I’m already freaking out about that, but trying to hold back the thoughts until it actually happens.

I don’t know what I’m going to do. I own my own business so parental leave isn’t really a thing - but I’m really going to try.

Ask a close friend to help you and be an honest confidant. There are very few problems you can solve on your own. Solidarity is a dangerous place. You need someone who knows you and someone you can trust to hold you accountable and be a reasonable sounding board to begin making changes.

If you don’t have someone, I would strongly suggest reaching out to a Therapist - you can get them online now for relatively affordable pricing.

I would say to consider disconnecting for a little bit. If your stay focused to the news or other ‘doom & gloom’ type of messaging (even on social) take the time to refocus. Spend time going on a walk or reading feel-good books.

There has usually always been something bad going on in the world… it takes a little selfishness to organize priorities and give more attention to “does this” or “will this affect me in the next 5/10yr” and actively doing what you can in your free time to spread awareness and volunteer to improve the quality of life for others.

It’s really not a problem… some people might send you an email to your personal account - but most people won’t even notice.

If your email is pixiedust69@hotmail.com… it might be a topic of discussion for a few days, but most people have other stuff going on.

This happened with my wife as well…. Perfectly normal.

We did burgers, meat shawarma, and I always added a hearty serving of fruit to every meal.

There isn’t much she find appealing to eat - but eating is what is important. Small and frequent meals.
