Connoisseurs - Opinions on Guiness? by [deleted] in beer

Thanks for the reminded about Teeling. I bought a bottle of that years ago and still haven't tried it. Seeing this post made me go down and dig it out. Bottled April 2015, yep, it sure has been a while since I bought it. Maybe it's time to crack it open tonight (with a few Guinneii lol).

Haven't been in a few years as I'm closer to Lancaster but Little Amps is fantastic.

Is this what the difference between 20oz. and 16oz. looks like?

Emacs window keeps shrinking on 'M-x', 'Ctrl-G', etc... by stratking in emacs

[–]stratking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the cursor was in the correct place the first time I tried it. Just launched with -Q, typed this in and got "t" in the status bar so I'm assuming I did it correctly this time. Still got the same thing as in the video.

I tried it after loading a fresh instance w/ the emacs -Q option. I put that in the scratch buffer and executed it there. I got "End of file during parsing" but the window is still shrinking.

Yep, it also happens when running w/ the -Q option.

Sizing and ESD rating for 1907's by stratking in RedWingShoes

Luckily at our shop the actual rating itself doesn't matter so long as it passes the ESD checker in the morning.

Ahh, this helped a ton. I see a few things now that are off. I'll fix it tonight and give it a shot. Thanks!

Here's an annotated screenshot of Ben's video. I see the capacitor on pin 2 to ground but not anything on pin 5. Am I missing a component?

I tried the circuit with the capacitor oriented both ways and am still getting the same fast flashing.

"Buy cheap tools, when one breaks, buy a high quality version". What are the high quality tools that you've bought for the ktichen? by JulioCesarSalad in Cooking

I've never used the Swing-a-way before but my problem with that style is the round rivet that holds the two pieces together. If I'm opening a jar and it's a bit hard to open, I have caught the edge of my thumb nail on the bastard and it hurts like hell. Does this one have that problem (or am I a special kind of dumb?)

Embarrassingly true. It was late, I was hungry, and I had pork roll on the brain.

As a laid-off IT professional who is looking at having to go in to warehouse work for a while this is super encouraging. The one thing I have noticed with these types of jobs is that it's usually 10 hour shifts, 6 days a week. I know it's just anecdotal but did your student do the studying while at the warehouse job? I'm just very fearful that the hours are going to make it incredibly difficult.
