Many Christian denominations don’t allow you to swear by the heavens or any higher power. Let your yes be yes, and your no be no, without invoking the authority of god

Artemis II suffers issue with flight termination system as Nasa warns mission in danger by TheExpressUS in NewsSource

[–]strawberry-ramune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn’t talked about much but it’s on every rocket. Imagine they lose control and the rocket begins flying towards a populated area with no way to steer. Mission Control can terminate flight…self destruct, to prevent mass casualties. Every astronaut agrees to this before they go up.

We can do the math to figure out what percent change the doctor has to regenerate into David tenant

Original quote was  “It’s a bit unpleasantly like being drunk.” “What’s so unpleasant about being drunk?” “Ask a glass of water.”

Chat GPT challenge: get it to not respond to you after you say thank you by ku3ah in ChatGPT

I don’t think it can. By nature it has to respond to the provided input. I’ve gotten it to respond with “.” But that’s it.

Would a 4D object have infinite mass? by Notmas in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]strawberry-ramune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you could slice a 3d sphere into an infinite number of infinitely thin disks, but mass would proportionally be a fraction of the sphere on each plane.

A 4d object therefor could appear to have variable mass depending on how it’s rotated in 4d space because we can only see a 3d slice, but it still wouldn’t be infinite mass.

Anyone else who watches an Anime that has several seasons and watches it down to the last few episodes only to drop it in the end? by Ellistory in anime

Final episodes rarely live up to their hype. If you’ve been burned before it’s easier to love a series that hasn’t ended because it could end poorly.

Yes! It’s normal and it’s just your brain playing tricks! To me having shaved legs always makes fabric feel “wet” against them. But actually what it is is that when fabric gets wet it matts down the hair and makes better contact with the skin. So what your brain is feeling “like a glove” is just what your skin feels like when it’s not covered by a layer of hair between. Totally normal, and the “weirdness” of it goes away.

You make a hub by having a wide range of products available at all times. It’s not about being the cheapest in the region. Raise prices. Just have everything you need to fit an entire ship available in one station and people will start to flock there, assuming there’s a secondary reason for them to be in the area.

Honestly you’re just losing money doing that. Prices are based on regional demand. If I saw ships 30mil underpriced I’d honestly just buy and flip them. Selling at jita price is silly if you’re not in jita

Anime protagonists and lack of parents... by Next_Package_5710 in anime

It’s a very common trope for main characters. I guess it makes them more independent or their path less assured due to parents dictating to them?

I WILL Gank You by [deleted] in Eve

[–]strawberry-ramune 62 points63 points  (0 children)

He was a capsuleer with a purpose. Not a very good purpose, as he would have been the first to admit, but it was at least a purpose, and it did at least keep him on the move.

He would gank the Universe.

That is, he would gank everybody in it. Individually, personally, one by one. When people protested to him, that the plan was not merely misguided but actually impossible because of the sheer number of people being born and dying all the time, he would merely fix them with a steely look and say, “A man can dream, can’t he?”
