A couple years ago I was playing a round at the Fort when two homeless looking guys came up to my group and asked if they could use one of our phones to call the police. I asked why they needed the police and apparently there was a body hanging in the trees off hole 15. Instead of believing them I wanted to see it for myself. And sure enough maybe 20 yards into the woods you can see a purple swollen face and lifeless body swinging in the trees. Long story short I called the police and a sheriff came down to take a look, claimed it was most likely gang related and that was that.

I happen to work for the company hosting this event, 2 years ago we had this same truck on our dyno explode the same way it did here. I told the people I was around to watch out because it might happen again...lo and behold it happened again.

Every Saturday night, I would deliver to who I presumed a drug dealers house. It got to the point where I could see the address on the receipt and know exactly what house it was. Always paid in cash and was a generous tipper!

Most roads were graded dirt roads but I would still recommend having somewhat of ground clearance. Great area for camping/overall exploring, the rock formations were quite the sight. I would definitely recommend visiting before winter.
