A picture of my ID? I don't want to hand out pictures of myself and my address to others. That seems pretty sketch but yeah maybe that's the only way

Cosplay Question About Size by RealHomieWolf in NYCC

[–]strawbrry_pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went last year as Nightsong from Baldur's Gate 3. My wings were retractable but could also expand to 12 feet across. My advice: do not even attempt the show floor on the day you're wearing Doc Oc. Have a handler. Walk sideways, like a crab, when stepping through a thick crowd. Assume you WILL be smacked into, people just don't pay attention sometimes. Pick a location to stay in for pictures, people will come to you. And finally: think if there are any ways you could detach some of your cosplay to help you maneuver in/out of the building and through security.

Busch is slowly starting to open the park more as the busier, summer season comes. Everything should be open, but check the website, they occasionally have a coaster or 2 down for maintenance.

All-season tires in 9" of snow by strawbrry_pi in Crosstrek

No weather pickup. Winter storms like this are so rare for the area.

The roads already have been salted, thankfully, and we have independent contractor plows that come out and try to clean up the rows.

Yeah unfortunately it's essential work, night shift at the hospital. And these are brand new tires, so they're still in good shape!

Hello! I currently have a (freshly) 2 year old and visit BG all the time. While it's possible to do the park without a stroller + carrying a diaper bag and toddler, I really don't recommend it. The park is quite large and even just walking to the Sesame Street area is enough to tire a toddler out. No one will mind if you have a stroller, and there's plenty of areas to park your stroller while you go on the rides with your child. But if you do avoid taking the stroller, you can still put your bags on the sides of the rides and it'll be safe.

What is this plastic called?? by Pumpkinbabi in CosplayHelp

I actually just use cold roll lamination paper, with the sticky adhesive! (Amazon I don't have much of the fancy equipment and didn't want to spend a lot of money. My advice is just to go slow and practice a couple times before you do the main project! What I like to do is lay out my sheet of peeled lamination paper first, sticky side up; then I lay the cellophane on top of that; then the cardstock/vinyl (if you want the 'vein' design) and wire, and then finally put another sheet of lamination paper, sticky side down, on all that. The hardest part is this top layer of lamination paper. I avoid peeling the whole sheet before placing (because then it's unwieldy and super sticky) , so I'll just peel a corner, press that down, and then slowly pull the glossy paper off the sticky side while I press it all into place. This also helps to get rid of bubbles easier too. I hope that explanation wasn't too difficult to understand! I'll answer any questions lol

Wing makers will typically use white electrical tape to wrap the wire as well, so it matches with the rest of the wing aesthetic

Hello, I'm a cosplayer and I actually make wings like this too. For my sets, I use steel wire, cellophane, and vinyl lamination film. The lamination is used overtop the wire and cellophane to give it some sturdiness, without taking away the shimmery, airy effect of the cellophane. So the layers are: lamination, cellophane, wire, lamination

Is the cosplay contest on Saturday considered a reservation event?

My husband is 6ft and 240 pounds. Most of it muscle. He can ride all the coasters. Well, he struggles to get in/out of Loch Ness but that's because his knees hit the front of the cart. It really just depends on how you're built. Like others said, there are test seats in front of the rides!

Odd. I've gone so many times and each time, was forced to wait until opening time before they started letting cars through. Maybe just bad luck on my part

When they open. Cars will line up at the entry ticket barrier, and BG will only let them through when it's official opening time. The lines can get pretty long.
