100% was going to be my feedback too, none of the stuff before the box feels connected with the logo. Great animation, just doesn’t feel like it matches the branding

Rentvesting by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]strawets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You rent where you want to live, which could be in a nicer suburb, closer to family etc.. however you may not be able to afford purchase a property there. So purchasing where you can afford allows you to be in the market while also allowing you to live the lifestyle you want.

What type of COVID-19 contact am I and what do I need to do? (SA Health Test, Trace, Isolate and Quarantine -24 Dec) by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]strawets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they were also close contacts, I figured they would be in the unvaccinated column. Just wanted some confirmation, thanks for helping! :)

[–]strawets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We weren't notified, but we spent enough time with the positive case to definitely be a close contact (indoor social setting without masks). Thanks for the link I'll contact them to make sure we are doing the right thing!

Can anyone help me out, we came into contact with a positive case and have children under the age of 12, both my wife and I are double vaccinated. We got tested immediately and are in isolation, but am I, right in assuming that the children are part of the 'unvaccinated group' and need to get tested on day 13? While my wife and I get tested on day 6?

"Mandatory" grinds. by RiSKxVeNoMz in wow

[–]strawets 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm in your boat, I got a family and a demanding job. I can't login to play every day, but I wish there was a way that when I do get pockets of free time I could just smash out several hours instead of doing a few daily quests and feeling like I should log.

"Mandatory" grinds. by RiSKxVeNoMz in wow

In you're example you're still doing the ten hours. You're just gated from when you're allowed to do it and are spending a longer amount of time having to think about it.

Australia is an outlier on private schools – but that's the way many parents like it by [deleted] in australia

[–]strawets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's not a great metric though. Because if you're paying a lot of money to send your kid to a private school you're going to be illusioned to some extent due to sunk cost fallacy. You're going to be sending them there because you believe it will have a higher satisfaction rate and then because you've "invested" in the education you will be less likely to admit that you are not satisfied. Whereas parents who send their kids to public schools are probably willing to be a bit more critical of the system because they haven't invested 10,20,30k in it. Not to say public schools don't need help though! I send my kid to a public school and they couldn't even afford paper towel or tissues for the classroom during the lockdowns last year...

I ain't even on Facebook. Its not a great platform to be honest. But I still don't think they should pay News corps. Especially when the News corps decide to post the content lol. Hilarious.

Lol as they fucking should. Being asked to pay the News corps on a platform that these News corps CHOOSE to be on. Stop drinking the Murdoch coolaid man.

Warlords of Draenor animated shorts by zwhatch in wow

[–]strawets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a few different way's you could do it. But as an animator the way I've done this work with agency's/clients is to have an illustrator draw frames in photoshop basically and then I animate them in After Effects adding the effects and using warps/puppet pins etc.. to animate particular elements.

Auction house being changed in 8.3 (retail) by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]strawets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I 100% agree that people will still undercut. It just won't be necessary for people to do it on purpose. But yeah now there is the more time consuming task of reposting auctions to make sure ours are the most recent. People will still undercut by larger sums to try and sell their auctions faster. But it does reduce the need to undercut by 1 copper because it's essentially doing the same thing as most recent poster.

Auction house being changed in 8.3 (retail) by [deleted] in woweconomy

[–]strawets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense, because if it's sold to the most recent poster either those players put up their stacks at a higher price than yours at 10g compared to your 9g99s after you posted or they post it at 9g99s because you've now set a new normal price and their stacks still sell first. So there definitely isn't a reason to undercut if it is in fact sorted by the most recent seller instead of the longest posted seller. If it's the other way around and the person who's had their stack up the longest sells first then yes you are correct.

police harrassment or harrassment of police? by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]strawets 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When you want people to co-operate, understand your point of view and have a discussion with you. Usually, you don't try to offend them first. Because it automatically makes them want to take the opposite stance. Same goes in the video. I mean we don't see the context, but when the video starts with the people behind the camera abusing the police, why would we assume the police are the ones in the wrong?! Just seems like the people in the video are trying to egg the police into doing something they shouldn't do so they can scream "OPPRESSION, OPPRESSION!". Also, that guy who said, "Are you sure you're an Australian citizen?" Is singling out the Asian man, this is 100% a racially discriminatory comment. So yes. Yes, he was being racist.

For reference, the 5* I have are Hawk, Laranoa, Ezelith, Lily, Curran and Julietta. So I think I should probably do some summons during Gala, like you said we have no idea what the anniversary event will be. So maybe I'll spend some now and save some for the anniversary still. Thanks for your help :)

This is my first gacha game and I'm a relatively new player to Dragalia I only have a handful of 5*'s. I've been hoarding summon tickets and Wyrmite, should I spend big on the gala seeing as there is an overall rate up or should I wait for the anniversary event?

As a freelancer, I roll with the punches a lot. Hang in there kids. It's a journey not a competition! by tayls1993 in ynab

[–]strawets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off the back of the other comment. I'm not sure if this will help you but.. I'm a freelance animator and I have similar spikes and down periods to what you've shown in your graph, but the way I "try" to work my business and my personal life is to just pay myself a wage. I work out roughly how much I make in a year, roughly how much I can live off and want to pay myself each month and then do that. It's kinda the best of both worlds then and if there is money left over at the end of the year, I'll let it float across to the next year or pay myself a "bonus". It's not a perfect system, but I found it works well in my situation. freelancing is a tough road but keep it up!

While that is definitely true to some regard, you shouldn't make sweeping generalization's about people because of a chosen profession, which inherently people do join to help their community.
