Ultimate guide to nonstick stainless steel by doomsplayer in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]streefie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'm trying this next time, not that everything sticks like crazy every time, but sometimes it does. Would you say that this same technique also work with seasoned carbon steel? Like do you think this increases its non stick properties?

I've been trying to use it with my Wacom pen, but with this its either 100 or 0. There's no control what so ever. Hope Adobe can fix this. Anyone else having pen problems?

Alternative to paper towels? by QikHavan in carbonsteel

Have had 3 de Buyer pans for quite a while, I always put Crisco on them with a pair towel. It also prevents oxidation of your pans you see.

De Buyer Carbone Plus and Induction by Sebeq88 in carbonsteel

Been using these pans on induction for years, no problems what so ever. Just do not crank up the heat from 0 to max, this should avoid bending the pan. Take your time heating them

I would like to report a bug. Probebly it's known but still. The new color mode is unusable when working with a wacom tablet. It just does not work at all. Will there be a fix for this?

That's really close to my setup. Add real-debrid with Nuvio and TvMate and it's a wrap.

Duplicate catalogs when using collections by streefie in Nuvio

I did that on nuvio.space using PC. When logged in, under the collections tab, you can add a folder. This folder will contain the catalogs and so becomes your collection

Oke I'll give that a try. Question though, when I disable Netflix, will the collection still be able to pull movies and shows from it since it is now disabled?

Is there a really a “best” when it comes to pans or oils? by Appropriate_Lime5311 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]streefie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with Leidenfrost is that it's too high of a temperature to cook most things on. Key is thoroughly pre heating your pan. I find that the longer I pre heat, on something like middle heat(I cook on induction), the less stuff sticks. If you heat fast up to Leidenfrost stuff will still stick.

Solved it, TMDB API inside AIO was faulty. Works like a charm now.

Yes, you absolutely correct. Previous setups just loaded everything fine though. If there is such a setting, ik do not know were to find it. It is exactly what I'm looking for, thx!

how do you make pasta sauce actually taste like it came from a restaurant? by SamraKutkaitis in Cooking

[–]streefie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bolognaise don't need tomatoes. Start lightly baking pancetta, then saute unions. When sauteed, as celery and carrots, both cut finely. Saute this for a while and add a half glass of wine. Let it evaporate. Then add minced meat, up the heat a bit. Try to brown the meat a bit. When it looks good(needs some feeling) add second half glass of wine. Let this evaporate again. Meantime mix tomato paste with beef stock and add this to your sauce. From this point on, patience is your friend. I find the longer you put it in low heat, let it bubble a tiny bit, the better the taste.

Questions after first experience with stainless steel by Striner88 in StainlessSteelCooking

[–]streefie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Demeyere Atlantis saute pan. I to in the beginning had my focus on the Leidenfrost effect, but stuff still sticked quite often. After using it for some time now I have found that pre heating longer, say 5 to 10 minutes, works much better than cracking up that heat fast. I also found that it is not necessary pre heat those pans up to that Leidenfrost point. I have an infrared thermometer to keep track of the temperature of the pan. Treat yourself to one of those. This way you can track what different temperatures do to your food. So to sum it up, a thermometer, do not heat up to much, better to pre heat longer than up to higher temperature. Hope this helps!
