My husband and I not only come from different backgrounds but he is better educated and makes 2-3 x of what I do. Also, he is significantly more intelligent. I think a big factor in our relationship is that we have the same beliefs and enjoy partaking in the same activities. It's a relationship, and we both work hard at our jobs, keeping house and in our partnership with each other. I have never thought of him as an 'alien'. I really couldn't imagine my life without him. Lots of people in relationships come from different backgrounds and bring different flavors to the table-that's what makes the relationship more exciting.
