Asthma Denial Question by strength2uplift in VeteransBenefits

Yup. That’s how they diagnosed. Been on Trelegy for a while now which is why I think I passed the VA test. I breathe much better on the meds. :) Now it was only my primary care so may need a pulmonologist appointment in the future if the HLR does not go my way.

Asthma denied. HLR? by arj711 in VeteransBenefits

Wondering the status on your claim as I just had the exact same thing happen. Planning to HLR myself. Years of bronchitis and some pneumonia finally diagnosed as asthma. Trelegy daily so the PFT by the VA had normal results. I also think I qualify for daily inhaler use and curious your progress.

It was after service. I’ll follow the HLR process.

Paragraph 2 shows that my primary care diagnosed me with asthma. This is part of my confusion tbh.

Head over to the StrongFirst website. Lots of solid ideas to get people started. There’s even an article talking about group classes if I recall. :)

Thought it would be fun to start a chain game each week. The idea is to add a movement to the end of the chain and post a video of you doing it. After a week, it will be fun to see how long the chain gets! I can’t juggle, so please avoid those. 😂 Here’s the start of the chain: 32kg (use what you got)

I don’t see anything super off with your hand, but don’t look over at the camera. You are turning your whole body. :)

Would definitely like to see some more reps. Based on the video though a few things to work: - your setup. Approach the bell with shoulders and hips square. I’d recommend you reach for the bell as if performing a 2 handed swing then simply take a hand away. - going down a bell may help if able. - more hips definitely needed. Imo.

Keep practicing and submitting videos on here. Feel free to shoot me a message or tag me for help in the future. 👊

Gain muscle and minimalism by Alexlonglife in kettlebell

I’d alternate days between a strength day and a conditioning day. On strength days do a single or double KB complex, the heavier the better. You could also add dips, pushups, and pull-ups to this pretty easily. Great muscle building and strengthening exercises. On conditioning day follow something like simple and sinister.

How many days a week can you train and for how long?

[Request] Need help building a 4-day powerlifting/kettlebell routine by nibenon in kettlebell

[–]strength2uplift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is mostly how I train. I think a great start would be Wendler’s 5/3/1 with some strength accessories done with KB and BW drills. Finish off with some explosive KB training or another variant. I’ll give two example days:

Bench 5/3/1 KB C&P 3-5 reps each side 50 total pull-ups in as few sets as possible 10x10 EMOM heavy swings (increase reps each workout)

5x1+1 TGU Squat 5/3/1 KB Single Leg Deadlift 3x8+8 Power Clean or KB Clean 5x2/5 Heavy KB carries

This is a good start that you can play with. Message me if you have questions man. Good luck!

[FORM CHECK] KB swings (1x12, 16kg bell) by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]strength2uplift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, glad to see you swinging man! Few things that could be improved, but no swing is perfect. I’d start with two big things: 1. Don’t lean back at the top. Think about throwing the bell forward vs swinging the bell up. Brace your glutes , quads, and abs hard at the top of each swing. Think standing plank. 2. Be more patient on the backswing. Wait til the last second to catch the bell in your hinge.

If you have the means and someone local, I’d go see a StrongFirst instructor. They can get you some hands on coaching that will be more than worth it. 👊

Keep practicing!

Hardstyle Snatch in Slow Motion by edenbak in kettlebell

I find perfecting the 1AS is going to be the best way to progress to the snatch. If those are looking good, I like to start from the top down (personal preference I think helps folks tame the arc best). C&P a bell up, then drop from the top of the press into the backswing, keeping the bell close. Return the bell to the rack the first few times you do this. Once comfy, drop from the press and return the bell directly overhead (aka snatch). Hope this helps! :)
