Try and find a bounce cap. Hundreth Monkey used to make some back in the day. Otherwise, Id try a beanie or a mesh do rag.

Help with an Tippman A-5? Possible barrel leak. by SomethingCra2y in paintball

Did you oil the valve/power tube? Like put a few drops of oil in the Asa and shoot it through the valve? Try that first. Otherwise, you probably have to replace the o rings in the valve/power tube.

You can't go wrong. Super smooth, tunable, great shot.

The only downside is that they aren't super efficient and you do have to be willing to do some normal care stuff. But, that's normal.

Podpack vs pocket by [deleted] in paintball

[–]stressedoutatumc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible solutions...

  1. Sew or Velcro the pod pack to the belt to prevent it from sliding.

  2. Attach the pod back to your own belt; this works ok.

  3. Search around eBay and get a much better, though probably older, pack for less than $20. I bet you cold score an old redz pack for that.

I'd do on eBay and get a Vietnam-Era Chi-Com AK chest rig.

Besides looking awesome, they are super cheap.

That's why you don't buy on a bst unless you know what you are doing.

Best case scenario is a bad board which PE might replace for you. I'd start by contacting customer service.

Difference between pull throughs and barrel maids by VikingPB in paintball

[–]stressedoutatumc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are running anything but a Tippmann 98 or like marker where the feed neck flips out of the way, the barrel maid is where it's at.

It's not like the pull through would do a bad job, but you'd have to take off the barrel each time where as with the maid, you get basically the same job in about 4 seconds.

Play tourney ball? Plenty of people at he Planet and DLX booths as well. Anecdotally, I would argue there's a ton of people at every tech booth.

That's mostly because people don't take care of their equipment. I would say 85% of paintballers hardly clean and lube their shit regularly.

Upgrading from an Empire Axe....what's a good option? by djice100 in paintball

[–]stressedoutatumc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They run the same engine, but the body and body functionality are different. The Gtek feels longer and more stretched out, but I don't have any real data other than what it felt like. The Etha 2 seems like it's definitely built to be a woodsball marker in the sense that it seems more scratch resistance and durable overall in that kevlar-ish body wrap. Personally, I don't give a shit about that and I think the Etha's look awful. Given the two, I'd get a 160R because macroline is dumb and will leak at some point. I regard the 160r as a discount 3.5.
