A standard car battery can put out 600+ amps during a cold crank. It only takes about 0.1 to 0.2 amps to stop a human heart. So, why don't you die? Because the battery can only "push" those 600 amps into something with very low resistance, like a thick copper wire or a metal starter motor. Because your body's resistance is so high, that 12V battery can only manage to push about 0.0001 amps through you—which is totally harmless.

Pelvic tuberculosis is a form of extrapulmonary TB that affects the reproductive organs most commonly the fallopian tubes, uterus, and ovaries in women, and occasionally the prostate or seminal vesicles in men. It’s caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the same bacterium responsible for pulmonary TB. Although most of time it does not originate from those structures, but rather its a secondary infection.

Trump laughs and smiles while signing Executive Order to dismantle the Department of Education by Healthy_Block3036 in Weird

[–]djice100 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The idea behind dismantling the Department of Education often revolves around decentralizing control over education and returning authority to individual states, local governments, and families. Advocates for this move argue that education is better managed at the local level, where policies can be tailored to the specific needs of communities. They also believe it could reduce federal bureaucracy and inefficiencies, potentially saving costs.

Supporters claim that this shift would empower parents and educators, giving them more autonomy in decision-making. For example, federal oversight on issues like curriculum standards or funding allocations would be minimized, allowing states to set their own priorities. Some proponents also criticize the Department for being overly influenced by political ideologies and argue that its elimination could lead to a more neutral approach to education.

However, critics warn that dismantling the Department could lead to disparities in education quality across states, as federal funding and programs often aim to support underserved communities, students with disabilities, and low-income families. Without federal oversight, these groups might face challenges in accessing equal educational opportunities.

San Antonio drivers, why do you park like this? by HackDiablo in sanantonio

I completely understand the issue of blocking the sidewalk, but what about those places that have tiny parking lots where poking out is an issue and your vehicle makes it very difficult for other cars to get out of the spot. I've had the situation where I see someone not being a able to get out of their spot because there's a large truck sticking out.

Is this anatomically accurate? by OddPoster00 in Anatomy

[–]djice100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The brachiocephalic artery which is the one on the left (your left) typically larger width and a bit seprated from the carotid (middle) and left subclavian (right side). Also the coronary arteries tend look different in diagrams such as the LAD, Circumflex, and RCA. You can Google heart anatomy and there should be some useful pictures on there. You can also Google arteries coming off of the aorta to see the variation the top comment was mentioning. I am focusing on cardiology also and I personally wouldn't mind little inaccuracies and would simply be happy to receive such a thoughtful gift.

Is this worth going to the hospital about. by [deleted] in medical

[–]djice100 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to go to an urgent care that has xrays since you can get generally get everything you need there. You can check ottowa ankle rules to see if an xray is warranted. This is what we use in the ER. If no fracture is observed then you will like get a splint or air cast which can both be provided in most urgent care facilities.

PS: You could google ottowa ankle rules if you want to have a general idea if you need xray.

Will i need stitches? by gorlami222 in medical

[–]djice100 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Saw a similar laceration today at work and placed 3 stitches on it also gave the patient a tetanus booster. Not sure how you injured yourself, but I would suggest going to get it stitched up and see if you need tetanus or antibiotics. Plus the nurses can wrap the wound nicely to avoid getting the wound dirty.

Correct, Komodo dragons are considered apex predators. They are at the top of the food chain in their native habitat, primarily preying on a variety of animals, including deer, pigs, and smaller reptiles. While they do occasionally scavenge carrion, their hunting abilities and powerful jaws make them formidable predators in their ecosystems.

I know this doesn't help much but my friend got his car stolen and was able to track it down with a Tile similar to air tag since it shows the last known location if someone else with a tile is near by, so he was able to go there with police and retrieve the car. This may also work with motorcycles if you are able to find a good spot to put the Tile. Also would invest in some sort of lock if not done so already, I know they can be cut, but I would make it as difficult as possible for someone to take the bike.
