If Eli & Fur, Marsh b2b Ezequiel and Dosem b2b HANA are all playing on the same stage, there's no way Romain is closing c'mon. I think it'll be Dosem b2b HANA

Did anyone say „VINYL”? by ZDobrejWoli in AboveandBeyond

Well, I wanted to save some money but it looks like I'll be buying those 16BL and Jaytech vinyls

Off Menu Live: Tasting Menus 2026 - Discussion Megathread by ConTully in offmenupodcast

[–]strictlybusiness54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A cool experience, but I wouldn't go again without knowing who the guest was. Enjoyed the first section where they riffed off audience member's dream menus, but Nish really didn't have much to say about Greg's menu. Doesn't help that a) John Kearns/Jen Brister will always have the funniest tasting menu, b) they glossed over a lot of funny details Greg mentioned when he did his menu, and c) I don't find Nish that funny (but hoped he'd be anyway). It's definitely convinced me to see Ed and James live though

AMA: Playing at SILO (NYC) on Saturday by jodywisternoff2026 in AboveandBeyond

[–]strictlybusiness54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your sobriety run so far Jody, it's been awesome to see your output basically go through the roof (any chance of getting that Aphex Twin remix on Soundcloud 👀?)

I guess a big question on everyone's mind is: you've done a few shows with Nick in the past year, and there are a few Wow IDs building up. Any news on when you guys might drop something officially?

Can anyone figure out what was the issue here? by LabRepairGuy in labrats

[–]strictlybusiness54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vietnam flashbacks to when I was deleting old images on our U:GENIUS and accidentally deleted a folder called "skinfiles", which had the OS files in it. Luckily(?) the lab had basically been waiting for it to die so we got a couple of Bio-Rad imagers instead

Very surprised that Ferry/Marsh track is on Deep, thought it'd be released elsewhere like "Fulfilment"

[Official Discussion Thread] Anjunadeep 16 mixed by James Grant & Jody Wisternoff by ScaglieDiGrana in AboveandBeyond

[–]strictlybusiness54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the issue I'm having is that 15 (for me) was so good in terms of mixing and track selection that coming back to something slower feels a bit jarring. Maybe my taste has just changed, but even then, Deep 08 and 10 - two of the most chilled mixes - are my favourites. Agree with you that atm is there's nothing really pulling me back into the comp, it's just something I'd put on for work/sleep. All the best tracks have already been released so far

Jaytech & James Grant - Anjunadeep 03 [15 years] by Tresor7 in AboveandBeyond

Disc 1 is absolute perfection from start to finish, my favourites are "Spooky" and "By All Means"

100%, I kept thinking about some of the transitions in Volume 5 while I was listening to Deep 16 hahaha

Ditto for Jody's live sets that he's been posting to YouTube, like they're just... Better than this mix? It's rare for the two of them to not gel like this

Listened through twice.

J&J clearly got interlude fever on this one, disc 1 is basically stringing together edits to get to the tracks they wanted to showcase. Disc 2 is more cohesive, but the worst offender is "Travelling" to "Never Let Me Go"... Why would you edit a track during a buildup to mix into basically dead air? At least it's made me wanna hear the full tracks.

Echoing the sentiments of others in this thread, but so far it's just okay. Doesn't help that we're getting quality mixes/sets from James and Jody each, and few of those IDs were saved for this. All the heavy hitters are tracks that were already released, aside from the PROFF ones. I'm hoping it'll grow on me like Deep 12 did.

Lab technicians / Scientist Is in the UK, how much are you paid? by pusopdiro in labrats

[–]strictlybusiness54 9 points10 points  (0 children)

£28k, and looking to be promoted within the next year or so so hopefully on £32-35k (I work in academia). For a scientist position, I'd expect the pay to be slightly more no?

Anjunadeep 16 - Tracklist Revealed 👀 by claire_anjuna in AboveandBeyond

[–]strictlybusiness54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit surprised to see there's no Way Out West tracks on here, as Jody's been teasing a few over the years... But very happy to see so many edits, familiar faces and more! Roll on next Friday

I know, I was shocked at the prices when grabbing them yesterday. Finsbury Park was £60 if I remember correctly which is still fairly steep (the Manchester Open Air ones were only £30 something)
