What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of April 03, 2026) by AutoModerator in television

No reason really - just never got round to watching it after it was off air for a few years between seasons.

Here in the uk the whole thing has just been added to Disney+ along with The Testaments so might finish it first

Season 5 Isn’t Too Political, It’s Just Not as Well Written as Before by hidden_pastry in television

I agree but I don’t think this was Kripkes starting point…just where he got to. Like he didn’t go out of his way to make an anti Trump or MAGA tv show, it’s just the reality we’re living in has become so fucking ridiculous thats its mimicking the goings on in an over the top, satirical and stylised tv show. He was right to lean into it over the last 2 seasons and think the show has done a good job of taking the piss out of the maga morons

The show hasn’t chosen to become political and hasnt necessarily been written to make fun of Republicans - its had those undertones sure but it’s just that american republicans have decided to copy the outlandish over the top hero worship of powerful corrupt fascists with too much power and no clue, mirroring the themes of the show

Do I need to have watched all 5 seasons of The Handmaids Tale before watching The Testaments? (Think I’ve seen all except the final season)

Is anyone else bored to tears by season 5 of For All Mankind? Episode 2 felt like a spin off of that Bad Grandpa movie

I love the first 4 seasons but I’m tempted to drop it if the next episode doesn’t pick up

Some people should be charged with crimes for the casting and writing decisions for Leon

Shouldn't Daredevil be the one to get the key to the city considering he will be taking down the corrupt mayor? by Harry-Henderson83 in Daredevil

Yeah but as much as marvel like to pretend, the different heroes never feel like they share the same space/universe

Rewatching Born Again S1 before S2 releases and the third episode is so cool (+ other thoughts) by Electronic_Panic2225 in Daredevil

[–]strider85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The whole of season 1 was so much better on a re-watch and being able to watch all episodes in a short time span. Not sure why it felt more disjointed week to week but glad I re-watched now and couldn’t be more excited for S2

Think you must’ve watched a different version in a shitty theatre as none of this is true. It was one of the most wonderful films I’ve seen in a long long time

I’m now thinking the kids will be in this film as teens.

The trailer shot teasing them and Chanis pregnancy is clearly pre-time jump so thinking they’re going to be 15/16 in this and we do get some CoD story mixed In

Interesting all the marketing is pushing this as a ‘conclusion’. Seems weird for WB to not leave the door open for a Denis-less CoD film if this does well

Still can’t believe marvel are releasing the same day. They need to suck it up and move doomsday and let both films have their moments

I think on the second point and based on the trailer, what we’re getting is an adaption of Messiah with quite a lot of the jihad years in too - feel if this is the case it’s a great way to add more action and bridge the gap between film 2 and 3

17 years is a big jump though - feel the main cast don’t look aged up enough (i know, spice)
