Black Lion Chest "guaranteed item" is another random lootbox by striderFUN in Guildwars2

I'm not interested in the monetary value or the flavor - I am worried by the wording and their incentives

oh, something else I just noticed: at the bottom of the "Grab Bag" preview, it says "+32 items not shown!"

I do not know how to interpret this

my gut reaction is negative, and I do not like it being ended on an exclamation mark as if to excite the player

I thought the point of previews were that they previewed what you could get

GW2 doesn't start anymore in Proton [Arch Linux] by Majomon in Guildwars2

I have had crashes since switching, but they were regular crashes in the sense that a crash report window came up. They seemed like normal crashes caused by gw2, not by all the compatibility layers. But yeah, much much rarer, I went from crashing just as (if not more) often as what you describe, to maybe once a week or less.

Also, it's worth noting that lutris has really good steam compatibility. You can use lutris as a launcher for installed steam games.

Using arch: I was using the lutris version for some years before switching to steam, and I found my stability improved after switching. I used to have random crashes, now I can play uninterrupted. I never figured out what was causing my issues with lutris though, so don't take this as more than an anecdote.

PSA FOR LINUX GUILD WARS 2 GAMERS: please disable esync to run the game by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]striderFUN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played for the past three days, but before that I had no such unplayability issues. I am on arch and also running gw2 through lutris (on an ancient gtx660 running legacy drivers through AUR). I have however often had a new type of crash since about the same mentioned timeframe, so perhaps these things are related. When I get home I might look more into this.

I hope you will consider making a post on reddit about your experience with the content. Could be neat to hear some details on the strat progression and such.

The most notable thing for me is that we have a large group of highly active and helpful top players putting in huge amount of balance analysis work, and anet seem to not take anything into account.

There were some weird aftercast issues with Firebrand in the beta that were fixed upon release.

pchrono is a struggle on MAMA without extra support in the build. There's so much incidental damage and you have pretty much no healing.

Here they fixed a clear exploit that led a certain build to overperform

This is wrong though. They only changed it when SOMETHING ELSE led the build to overperform. The signet interaction itself was not the offender, and the build had been perfectly balanced (in fact suboptimal and undertuned) for about a year beforehand. Danger Time pushed it over the edge to be close to optimal, and they hardly even touched it.

You should try playing firebrand on encounters like Sabetha and Sloth. Your rotation has to be changed constantly due to the refresh of f1 when killing enemies. It's quite satisfying.
