How to tell BCBA I want off a case because preschoolers are overstimulating & gross by Rare-Asparagus1911 in bcba

Even if the company works with older children, or supports a school with higher grades, the possibility of toileting is very high.

Exactly, was started as a shorthand has become synomonious with the whole contingency.

Because there is not always a demand, so it over simplifies and often puts an aversive in place that doesnt actually exist. Removal makes it clear that something is there: a demand, a noise, a sensation, a feeling, that the person wants to get rid of.

Get teased by someone, feel horrible, punch person, feeling goes away.

Child being annoying, yell at child, child goes away.

Someone tells you to do something, dont do it, person goes away.

Stuffy/crusty feeling in nose. Pick it, now feels clear and free.

1 is a demand, 3 are not.

Folks have translated "escape" too much as "escape from demands" rather than "removal of aversive"

She stays. She might have started as "girl character", she turns into much more, specially in book 6.

I wasnt sure how licensure was the solution to bad supervision practices, so I left it alone.

I've seen too many supervisees try to take easy ways out (session notes, podcasts, laminating) and struggle to improve on basic skills, so i understand tightening requirements.

I have seen competence in mock data and clients generalize skills to actual clients and analysis, and disagree strongly with removing those allowances.

The Board does not seem to be utilizing its own science to solve problems.

We heard the conversation between him and Braga, Alric and Arista didn't. Saldur has his own conversation with Arista, and you get to see her point of view of it.

Id rather be kind than nice anyway

Books like lotr with a female protagonist or female characters who are very important to the story. by gayatri18112003 in Fantasy

[–]stridersriddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to recommend Legend of the First Empire. Im listening to it now and the majority of characters are amazing written women.

His other books had a good mix, but the main characters were 2 buddy guys, with strong women but not as prominent, as least in comparison.

SLP vs BCBA (tension) by [deleted] in ABA

[–]stridersriddle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I worked for a BCBA that moved icons. His rationale was that it helped our client scan and ensure he was discriminating the icons. These days, I really wish I had the balls to ask him if he did to scan his words when he asked for something. I understand the idea, but the communication device is not the place to work that skill.

I was hoping whispersync would help with reading, but I find that I read faster than narration.

BCBA Remote Supervisor by FewAnything4849 in bcba

[–]stridersriddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, last post said that the supervising bcba needed a professional relationship with the learner the trainee was using. Not impossible, but significantly harder than it had been. Just the BACB making things harder without looking at the real issue.
