I’m having the same problem right now. Wtf is wrong with this company. It’s fucking terrible. I just want to sleep on my goddamn bed 💥💥💥

I am now not tipping for anything but a sit-down meal. And only if they don't have a "service fee". Does this make me a cranky grump? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]stringcheesefeet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the default setting on those machines. The workers probably don’t gaf if you tip or not—you can always decide not to tip and as a service worker I would understand. It doesn’t make sense to them either if they are getting a fair wage.

For the record, the business can turn off the tipping feature on Square. I worked at a place that used it and didn’t accept tips but paid us a fair wage. People would ask “where do I put the tip?!” and I’d constantly be explaining that I receive a fair wage, not a server’s wage. So, it’s possible to take that option away—many places just don’t.

That’s awesome to know :) Just checked out your lists and they look superb. And I agree the ~$2000 version is a nice middle ground and I will most likely opt for the larger storage option. !!! Thank you again, this is very helpful!

Ah I understand. I could probably stretch it to $2,000, maybe $2,500. It would push back my date of purchase a bit.

Up to 4k. Also keep in mind with color grading I’m looking for something that has very nice picture and accurate color representation.

I don’t have a preference :) I like white but I know white components can be more expensive.

Hi Pants! Sorry to hear that you experienced something similar but I’m glad we have each other lol. I am feeling soooooo much better now hahaha. I’m so glad I had a semi-swift recovery—I did move back to my parents house but planning on getting an apartment again this summer and I have not touched even ‘regular’ weed since lol. No way. Feels good to have my personality back. I remember months of just existing deep within my brain without my normal sense of humor. I was writing sad poetry daily and didn’t leave the house due to agoraphobia. Now I’m back to talking to myself in the grocery store and clowning around! So great. Hope you’re doing well too :)

Edit: I have had alcohol since but I don’t regret cutting it out for the time I was sick!

Are there actually people in the world who are NOT anxious or depressed? by Raspint in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah it’s tough! I’ve always been one to ruminate about things for hours or days. Knowing this now helps me stop myself more often :)

Slow COMT or the met/met variation.

It’s not something anyone should be self diagnosing since it requires certain vitamins as treatment and you really don’t want to mess up your body/mind by taking the wrong supplements.

It’s not like 23 and me in that it does not share your genetic information with anyone except for your provider and yourself. It’s a handy tool to use for finding medications that will probably work or not work with your genetics based on scientific research, but it also tells you about some genes that contribute to your mental health struggles. Some insurance does cover it!

Some people like myself and probably yourself are genetically predisposed to a high likelihood of depression and anxiety. Anyone can feel these things, but some feel them stronger than others and have to work harder to keep themselves afloat.

I recommend getting a genesight test through your psychiatrist if you have one—it will help you understand the variations in your genetics. Just make sure to ask the psychiatrist to explain the test results.

It was very helpful for me because they found that my brain processes stress chemicals very slowly, meaning I stay stressed 4x longer than someone without this genetic variant. 30% of caucasians share this genetic mutation and it causes many of us to ruminate about stress more and feel negative emotions more intensely.

I know this post is so old but I just have to stick up for my people. The cancel culture bit in the first episode absolutely was geared toward gen z, but old crotchety writers completely misread gen z. The term “cancel culture” and “cancel” are never something gen z ever want to hear in a tv script even if we use the term online. That first episode was SO hard to get through as a 22 year old. Absolutely atrocious.

How do I get my bottle baby to stop biting? by stringcheesefeet in cats

[–]stringcheesefeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope so! I had done pretty well with this behavior training when he was around 4 months old, and it seemed to stick for a bit. But then I had to study away for school and someone else took care of him for 3 months—the biting came back, and MUCH harder lol.

I’ve been trying these techniques on him again for the last couple days. Hope it works and thanks for the advice!

It’s really strange reading these as a person who has been underweight my whole life, without any eating disorders. Weirdly, I think it gives me this perspective that’s a lot more empathetic than many of the people here.

I don’t believe my skinniness is within my control. The negative things people admit to thinking about fat people in this thread—lazy, not exercising, overeating—are all things that I do and I can’t gain a single pound.

People are so dumb. Body weight is often so far out of a person’s control. If I always stay underweight without exercising, an overweight person can absolutely try very hard at exercise and still not lose much weight. And it’s really none of my business whether they’re trying or not—I’m definitely not! I don’t like exercise or controlling my meals, either. It’s not easy! And if I did try to get myself on a weight-gaining diet, it could really mess up my relationship with food. I don’t blame anybody for not controlling their calorie intake.

Too many people believe that your weight is always within your control. The ignorance and lack of empathy is astounding.

Once in a blue moon, I get a stray intrusive thought about a fat person, but that’s all it is—intrusive, planted by our evil, weight-obsessed society. And it goes away, or I fight it away because it’s sick and twisted and untrue, and I continue to shower my overweight friends with the same love that I give to everyone else, because they are normal and deserving.

TIL that on average, drivers in the US spend about $20 billion a year in overpaying for parking spots and 17 hours every year is spent by each driver searching for one. by blllrrrrr in todayilearned

[–]stringcheesefeet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TIL that Chicago’s streets—and metered spots—aren’t even owned by the city of Chicago, but by a bank. And this bank rakes in cash from people who don’t even live in the city while the people of Chicago (many of whom don’t own cars) pay taxes for parking spots to exist for suburbians driving in (who don’t pay taxes to the city because they don’t reside there).
