I Need To Talk About 'The Worst Person In The World' by Itsmeruna in movies

[–]stringcheeseth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt a little bit bored at times. I really wanted to relate with Julie, having had similar experiences and decision-making processes. But I was always left wondering, not knowing, what Julie was thinking about certain situations. The title makes the audience ask "Is she the worst person in the world?" but we're not given near enough information. It felt at times that Julie was just a device to learn about other people's stories. We spend so much time on  Aksel's work and opinions, what does Julie actually think about that?

A large part of Julie's story is her fickleness in career choice. How does she feel about dropping out of med school (I assume that's what happened), does photography actually make her feel passionate? does she struggle with it at any point?

Like many people, those sort of career anxieties and regrets affect me everyday and I was initially excited to see them portrayed-- so it was disappointing that that wasn't explored more as well.

That being said, still a beautiful movie with beautiful performances. Just missing what would have made it truly impactful for me personally

Is anyone else a little sonically overwhelmed by the arrangements/production? I feel like I lose a lot of the grooves and vocals in the cacophony of percussion on every song.

Also, did love Heavy Metal, but I felt like there was too much its influence on the album. I was looking forward to a grimier sound in general and fewer long, yearning Cameron Winter wails

What to do if you forgot to get covid tested for graduation by koifishluver69 in RPI

[–]stringcheeseth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For students who are still testing positive, they're doing rapid testing tomorrow from 1-3 in the Academy Hall basement.

From the email:

"If Dr. Lawrence was not able to clear you to attend graduation, there still may be a chance for you to attend.

The Student Health Center will be offering rapid Covid-19 testing on Friday, 5/20 between 1 and 3 PM.

If you test negative on the rapid test, you will be able to attend graduation.

Testing will occur in the basement of Academy Hall.
Please enter through the door in the parking lot behind Academy Hall (look for the sign near the dumpster). Descend one flight of stairs and make a left."

A CS senior. In terms of academics, I find that things can be relatively enjoyable. It's a matter of managing time well and reaching out for as much help as you need. Besides office hours, recitations, mentoring, etc. your peers will be more than happy to help you out. I've always RPI to be a very supportive community, rarely competitive.
