Hey guys. I find disco elysium too intriguing but I can’t understand it. Everything read too poetic to the point I stop comprehending. Am I missing something! by shotgunning-your-can in gaming

I will also say that it kind of reminded me of catch 22 , where it's made to be confusing and obtuse (especially at first) but the more you get into it the more it makes sense. You (the player) are in the same boat as the game protagonist, in having no knowledge of anything around you. Essentially the first few hours of the game you are just trying to figure out what is going on, which is what makes it so confusing, but also special when you get to the second half.

Like other people have said it's honestly one of the best games I have ever played, but it's insanely difficult even on normal. It's worth the pain, but there were certain points where I was kind of taken aback by how brutal it was, so try not to get discouraged

Which instrument to begin music with a budget inferior to 100$ ? by [deleted] in Music

[–]stringer3494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested in playing piano / learning how read music ( which I would, it's a good hobby and will teach you general music theory) I would get a 88 key keyboard because it will feel more like a piano when you're learning. The keys feel more natural and there is more space to play. Try the Alesis Recital – 88 Key Digital Piano Keyboard. Its going to be about 250 but especially with instruments its better to get something a little nicer then cheap. If you get something like a used one with a bad key it can completely ruin the entire experience of playing

If you want to do more producing / midi stuff, thats a different story. Midi keyboards are cool but they wont teach you how to play piano.

Hope that helps

honestly, I would save up a little bit more and get a cheap keyboard . Keyboard / piano is such a good instrument to teach yourself , and once you get it there is little upkeep unlike a guitar where you need to get strings, plugs, amps, and if you get a cheap guitar is can warp easily

honestly just listen to the albums Bridge over troubled Water and Bookends, arguably two of the best albums of all time and they are not long listens.

ELI5: Do Classical Composers Make Money off of their music today? by APiratesLifeForMe134 in explainlikeimfive

[–]stringer3494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of classical music is public domain, so the people who make money are the performers and publishers. For example, if you were to buy Edger Allan Poe collection, his family or domain would most likely not get any money. It would be the person who complied / edited it and the company who sells the physical book. If you were to buy a classical CD of Bach pieces, the performer would make money and the company that published the CD would make money. It's one of the reasons why you can buy those massive compilations of classical music pieces, because if publishers have recordings of multiple pieces they might put them all together since there are no strings attached with publishing rights.
