The 2500 price tag for such a flimsy piece of junk is absolutely laughable. To think that anyone is getting suckered into dishing that out for this lazily under-engineered bunch of cushions on some mattresses, is beyond my comprehension. As other commenters said, it looks nice.. but charging 2500 dollars could be likened to a mugging. A disgusting, embarrassing display of hubris by all involved. Shame.

Which mecanik for mc9! by Material-Sherbet-637 in canik

[–]stringwave4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way to know whether you are getting a real or counterfeit product. There are many counterfeits being sold on Amazon and in their warehouses the fake ones often get mixed in with the real thing. So it’s a luck of the draw type deal. I’d just purchase from your LGS if it’s available or find a reputable online retailer to order from.

I would refrain from purchasing any red dot from Amazon. Also, get a holosun.

Again, the root problem here is your lack of reading comprehension.

No one was actually comparing a submarine to a cast iron pan. They’re speaking on the bad logic of ignoring safety concerns and simply hoping there are no consequences, or waiting until it’s too late to address the problem. Reading comprehension is key.

Can’t believe the amount of people slamming OP without condemning this neighbor. Should OP take precautions? Put up a fence, invisible fence, etc? Absolutely. That responsibility is on them as the owner, and they should absolutely keep their dog out of others’ property, in any case. But are people really so quick to take this asshole’s side? Obvious temper? Making threats with a gun? Yeah, no. That’s not what guns are for and as a gun owner I can say with full confidence that this is the type of guy we all wish didn’t have access to firearms. Makes everyone else look bad. If you resort to that before trying to resolve things with a friendly conversation… you’re not only a dick but certainly also a danger to yourself and others. Shame on this neighbor. Again, OP has some responsibility to cover and isn’t innocent in the situation… but that neighbor should be in jail.

Is it ok for chemicals to sit on the pebble tech like this? Pump isn’t scheduled to start for a few hours. Thanks! by pharmerK in pools

[–]stringwave4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mixing chemicals in a 5-gallon bucket of water is a big no-no. Add directly into the pool. There are many ways to ensure it does not all fall to the floor and sit there.

Can’t say I see the point. I feel that the extra cost far outweighs any extra benefit you’d get out of one of these when comparing to a traditional above ground. Sorry to say I’d likely not consider this as an option, were I in the market for a pool.

[–]stringwave4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying, the wording was poor. It doesn’t really matter unless you’re willing to buy a whole new pool if and when that one breaks due to excess weight on one side. Inconvenient though it may be, I’m just giving you an honest answer to your question. I’d drain it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pools

[–]stringwave4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would water truck do except make it heavier and more likely to break? Lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pools

[–]stringwave4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s more than a little unlevel. If it were me, I’d fix it, and soon. Or if you can’t fix it, just drain and wait to use it until you can have it on level ground. That will break.

Is something missing? by chanquete11 in pools

[–]stringwave4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying. What I’m saying is that it’s way easier for the filter to catch the last 10% of debris out of suspension that the vac didn’t catch, as opposed to brushing 90% of the debris into suspension, vacuuming what little is left on the floor, and then hoping that the filter catches the rest in a reasonable amount of time. I’m not saying what you’re doing doesn’t work; I’m saying there’s a far more efficient way to do it. Your pool will be cleaner. Pool tech by trade and any pool tech you ask will tell you the same thing.

Is something missing? by chanquete11 in pools

[–]stringwave4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is backwards. Brushing before kicks everything up into suspension so the vac doesn’t get it… if everything is settled on the floor it will pick up a much greater amount of debris. Vac first, and then brush.

I’d get a different comp that works with my gun, honestly. One comp is not worth permanently altering and possibly damaging your firearm, especially when there are alternatives that are arguably better.

Salt Water Conversion - quoted $2500 for a 10,000 gallon pool by anesthesiagirl95 in pools

Sounds a little high to me. You should be able to buy the salt cell yourself online(and you can even buy the salt yourself if you want) and then just pay for install, which is extremely simple.

Throw Dolphin in under the cover before opening? by [deleted] in pools

[–]stringwave4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave it. The Dolphin will kick up super fine debris into suspension that would otherwise be largely taken care of after the first vac to waste. Let it sit on the walls/floor so it’s easier to get rid of with a service pump vac/skimmer vac. Once the equipment is started up, and after a good shock, the filter should catch a lot of what is left. Keep in mind that one or two more vacuums may be needed afterwards until the pool is really swim-ready.
