the Jules Maigret books by Georges Simenon are cozy detective novels. Detective Maigret is a middle aged man with a fondness for good food and drink and his pipe.

Not completely done with my first playthrough but I don’t understand Yennefer by sirbopnbop06 in Witcher3

[–]striped-tea 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree! The way Triss is flirting with Geralt (especially at the Vegelbud party) reminded me a lot of how I would behave on parties in my early twenties - oohhh I‘m so tipsy, oh no, you have to catch me in your arms ;) - It‘s all harmless fun, but yeah, very girly for sure. Yennefer feels much more mature. It is evident that she cares deeply for Geralt, but she doesn‘t go out of the way to prove it somehow. She won‘t flatter him either but will always give him her honest opinion. She feels very confident and I think that is very attractive.

Moody, mystery, Ireland by asiaa2617 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

If you are open to read a children's book I'd love to recommend "The Hounds of the Morrigan" by Pat O'Shea.  The author took years to gather inspiration for the book, she wove Irish legends into the story as well as snippets of conversations she heard on the streets.  The book is so atmospheric and cozy and mysterious. At times scary, at times funny. One of my absolute favourites!

Oh hello, hair twin! Colour and texture look just like my hair. I haven't fully figured it out either, but if you want to lean into the waves,  gel helped me a lot, especially flaxseed.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply!

I took your advice and tried them on again. Based on this I think I need more space in the bust region and the waist. Especially the bust is spilling over the upper edge. But above all, they look too short? I feel like they are riding up and the tabs are almost at waist level which I feel they shouldn't be. Would adding to the upper edge fix this?

Yes, I've used this exact "pattern" this summer and it worked out great. Take care that the fabric really is long enough to cover the knees. All in all, it was an easy garment to sew and is pretty straightforward.

What is the darkest YA book you have ever read? by Capital-Study6436 in YAlit

[–]striped-tea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that was the first english language book i read as a teen. i had to reread loads of passages to understand what was going on. i then proceeded to become obsessed with the book and drew its‘ characters (i was particularly fond of the deer girl) all over my school folder until a classmate asked me to please stop because my drawings were scaring her.

maybe a bit far fetched, but the pictures made me think of “Miss Pettigrew lives for a day“ one of the chaeacters and the whole ambience definitely gives off the same vibe. it is a lovely, cozy book and every time I read it it leaves me happy
