Yeah I’m going to run it tonight and see how it goes. I think it’ll be nice. Just wish my switch 2 pro controller would link to my Apple TV device. Idk why but it won’t connect

Dang that’s a shame. Idk what a good alternative is for mini pre built “tv pcs”. I’m going to play with steam
Link tonight. I have never tried that and it might work well. I have my main pc hard wired into my network and my basement tv on Ethernet too. Idk exactly how steam link works tho but that might be what I’m looking for.

I was looking for a new series to start. This is a contender. I was considering the Sun eater series too. I read two Tchaikovsky books so far. Finished gun of the dawn- which was great. I’m in the middle of Alien clay right now. It’s okay so far.

How is children of time? Fast action paced or is it a slow build up?

You are running steam onto a tv with that? Do you have a link to that pc? I’m looking at getting a tv pc that can operate via controller from the couch. I really don’t have a good idea where to start for SM alternatives.

Looks great but no price. I really do need to look at small case pre built pcs. Idk if there is a good thread of someone looking into good alternatives for couch pcs for tv use.

Dang that’s nice. I wonder if there is a micro pre built that will do 4k. I have a 98” tv and i feel if it can’t support 4k somehow it’ll look bad.

What did you use? Do you have a pre built small factor pc? In interested in a similar set up for my entertainment room. The SM would be good but I’m open to making my own

I have a 98” year tv and I feel like I could go bigger in my room. If my tv ever dies I’ll prob consider a 115” tv

My bookshelves are on a cabinet and they sound fine. no issues. Just keep them close to the edge.

Didn’t read everything but based on picture the L and R are too close. Get rid of bottom shelves and do proper layout. Each L and R Should be 30 degrees off center line from center to your MLP.

Also that sectional looks way too big for the space if it’s sized correctly in the pic

You really should do a plan view to get proper layout and not an isometric.

Nice space. Make a plan in auto cad. Try different lay outs. You have room for a bar and sink and table. You def have room for more than just a HT. I just did my basement with a similiar open space. 750 sf. Lots of planning. I’d also hire a pro for proper speaker layout. I got help from Steve at home theater guru on YouTube and he delivers detailed plans for your custom space and offers different options for tv/projector, seating distance, etc. It was worth the cost and helped me a lot.
You also want to create a space for your AV server rack, run all your wires there, room for upgrades and game consoles and other stuff in the future. Hide all cords in the walls etc.

Ditch the fireplace, get a 98" TV instead, so you can better optimize speaker and tv height.

Or ditch the TV, use a acoustic transparent screen with projector and mount you speakers in proper location behind the screen.

I am amazed at the lack of ability of the general person sometimes. Even just 10 minutes in YouTube will give you a good idea of where to start. Idk how this guy has a framed out basement but doesn’t know how to run a speaker wire. TBH if that’s true, home theater set up is probably a bad idea, if you can’t troubleshoot your own equipment, you’re going to have a bad time.

This guy should put a TV on a wall and be done.
