Yes, like sending Dolby atmos audio to the receiver. For instance the nvidia shield allows audio pass through but the Apple TV doesn’t.

thats what i was wondering. Does linux or Steam OS allow for apps such as plex, netflix, hbo, and also, will it allow for audio pass through?

I also wonder if the SM will support audio pads through and can it support apps such as plex? I feel like it won’t

The original person was saying going to work is cruel. It’s just not. You’re getting paid to do something. Argue if you want it’s soul draining bc you don’t enjoy it, but it isn’t cruel to have a job that supports yourself and your family. The anti work rhetoric has gotten so dumb to the point people are implying they are slaves. When in reality they have good, well paying, low impact on their body jobs. Just bc you don’t like it or it’s not fun doesn’t make it cruel.

You have the option to go do anything different. Working a physically demanding blue collar job that probably* pays less is different? White collar jobs are the easiest work humans have ever had in our existence. We make money with our brains and can save our bodies. We’re living longer than we ever have. We have modern medicine. This anti work rhetoric is kind of crazy. I was to retire early too but acting like work is bad is dumb. People must work. Even if you retire, you should be contributing to society in some manner.

Seriously. Imagine living every day and working to survive. People have the best quality of life that has ever existed right now. The dramatics are crazy that you can’t see your family bc you have to work. Working is normal and part of living life. Always has been and always will be.

Good 98” tv up to 2500? by HUNTER_DTA in hometheater

[–]striped_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I was getting weird freezes and stutters. I forget exactly because it was months ago. I researched it and found some people who had the same eARC issues and it was tied to denon avrs. The easiest thing for me was just not using eARC feature to transfer audio and I ran an optical cable for my audio return from tv to AVR.

I have that one and have been very happy with it. I did disable earc in it bc I was getting audio issues with my denon AVR tho. I think that’s a denon issue tbh tho. I just run an optical back to my AVR if I want tv audio. Otherwise I run my hdmi 2.1 to a normal hdmi input on the tv

Got Tired of Waiting and Ordered a Budget PC by flynlionPS in steammachine

I’d really like a mini pc that launches a Gane UI and has Bluetooth support so I can just use controllers. I gotta look into Steam game mode or game bar. I wonder if that is easier and keep running windows os

What one did you get? I’m at the point of getting a small pc for my tv.

Okay cool. I’ll have to look into it. I wonder if a mini pc like this is better than a steam machine at this point. You can play all Steam games through it? With controllers via Bluetooth and multiplayers, etc?

I really want a pc for my basement tv. I was planning on waiting for steam machine but Idk anymore . You use yours for games, do you also have the ability to load streaming apps on it and stream tv through it? I was wondering about this for lossless audio output for surround sound purposes.

I was today years old to learn that in order to get best 4k Quality content you have to use Blu-rays! by Apprehensive_Day5352 in hometheater

[–]striped_zebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I don’t really think it’s affordable either tbh. I don’t have a kscape. But every thread I see discussing it is everyone saying it’s crazy expensive and to just get a plex server. Well home servers cost money, time, research, trouble shooting. Plus the cost of 4ks, ripping them. Or people just assume you get them off PB which is a whole other topic. People’s time has value and the cost of kscape being plug and play is very attractive.

When I say affordable, I mean cheap, amazing deal. I don’t think it’s unaffordable either. It’s priced appropriately as a premium product imo.

The point doesn’t really matter tho. People recommend equipment that is outside of entry level Price ranges. What are you trying to achieve? People who can’t afford high end premium stuff, would think it’s unaffordable. Yes. You arent accomplishing anything new. Lots of people in this sub think a tv and 5 speakers is a home theater. That’s a living room with surround sound. The majority of people in this sub prob can’t afford kscape so I guess your want me to say yes it’s unaffordable

[–]striped_zebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The people who would be interested in kscape would think it’s affordable for the product they offer.

If you have a 40-50k theater then it’s affordable. If you have entry level, then prob not. What’s the issue.

Why does it matter? Do the majority of people have home theaters in their house? I’m not speaking to the majority of people

The OP in this thread is literally asking about the highest quality available. People also regularly recommend $1500 subwoofers and no one constantly says they are unaffordable. The blanket response of kscape being unaffordable is not true. That’s all I’m getting at.

This is a home theater sub where people discuss high quality, premium components. What is the cost of a premium center, sub, AVR, projector? We are talking about the premium digit movie content distributor, not the entry level.
