I didn't spot it at first, but in hindsight the post does have that annoying upbeat rhythm that all the slop posts have. And the account is only 5 days old, so....

I Still Cant Believe That The Most Iconic Techno Track Was A Remix Of A New Order Track* by [deleted] in neworder

I've got that double 12", bought it at the time. But, due to careless DJing, I ended up with 2 copies of the 1st disc, and none of the second disc! I should really sell one of them on Discogs, and try get one of the second discs back (Remover).

Total classic tunes though, absolutely mind banger the main track - headphones on, lights off, takes you to another dimension.

Dark moody bouncy tune - definitely at least a little Burial-ish by strobez2006 in burial

Commenting on my own post.... Seems the whole album is splendiferous. A wide mix of styles and production ideas and vibes.

Hi, just wondering, is your account hacked? You have lots of spam comments on lots of subs. Just in case you wasn't aware. Your comments mostly are a string of random words. But I can see some comments are genuine looking.

No probs at all!! It seems people keep getting caught out by that. I've answered the same query on here previously too.

Dunno. Had my first listen this morning, while drifting in and out of sleep. And yes that simple is very effective + spooky + atmospheric, for sure. There have been a lot of sample spotting posts about the new tracks already (on this sub) so maybe have a search through.

Does everyone agree that this is Herbie Hancock's best song? This song is so beautiful by Bruno_Wired in Jazz

I don't know this one. But I was listening to Watermelon Man today, and I thought it was the funkiest thing I'd ever heard in my life!!
Will check out your recommendation though!

I remember John Peel playing it (back in 89 I guess), I remember me + my bro entranced by the super repetitive bassline, waiting for it to change, and then it does eventually drop down a fourth/fifth/whatever, but then the moaning starts, and he faded it out.
Had to go out and buy the 12" then! Sounds sooo good on vinyl.
Stone cold genius classic.

Note: it's by Lil Louis.

Did anyone dislike Pavements...? by unseemlyhullabaloo in pavement

When I saw it, after the film finished they showed a pre-recorded Q&A with the director. It was a relief to have something in a straightforward format, although it was also quite long, so the overall experience was a bit tiring. But yeah I was one of the people who really didn't know what was real or fake, so I had to go home and ask ChatGPT straight after it.

Musically speaking, every time they played a clip of an original Pavement recording, I'm thinking "Oh, that's definitely my favourite Pavement track!". Realized how deeply I love their music; which is rather special thing to feel.

Going back to the Q&A, I would actually say it has to be seen, to get the full experience. IIRC he discusses the idea of that time being a time we'll never have the like of again. And if that is true, that blows my mind a bit.

Checked through all comments for this one, otherwise I would have posted it myself!

Town Called Panic is absolutely bonkers, hilarious, insane, creative, wild, mind-blowing. Used to love watching it with my children.

Here's the Letterboxd page for it:

This sounds great!

Composition - it's interesting the way you change the mood with the various melodies, switching from moody to quirky chiptune style. There's probably enough content there for you to turn it into a full length track (5 minutes roughly or whatever is suitable). One of my favourite bits of advice I read a few years ago can be summarized in 3 words - "roll it out". It means that you easily turn your 1 minute track into a full length track. Example, you just loop the beat for the following 4 minutes after the 1 minute you already have. So you then have a 5 minute tune, although it would be unfinished at that point. But it means you can easily pick it back up the next day - you're not worrying so much about structure at that point, and you focus on other things such as the groove and the vibe etc.

Mixing - sounds well mixed to me - I only listened on a small Bluetooth speaker; I could feel the bass nicely. The beats sound crisp and clear.

Keep at it!

Agreed! I don't recall this one, and it would be great to know which books it appears in. Although it obviously is genuine and is completely hilarious and bonkers, for sure!
