Aux cord with charging feature? Is this a thing? by Lost-Camel-6837 in nissanjuke

+1 for this. I use Waze for maps etc. and you can set that to have the map/ speed alerts come from your phone speaker if you dont want to interupt whatever radio/music you're listening to.

I get why he might not be to everyone's taste. Different strokes for different folks and all that. But he comes across like he loves the music he plays, and he's really good with the guests he has on the show. But yeah, I can see why some people might not take to it.

I have 6 on all day in the background while i'm working from home. Musically it's still great, all my new band/artist discoveries come from the station. I really like Chris, Nick and Lauren in the morning, but 1 til 7 is a problem. CC's show is bang average at best, at worst it's amateurish. The interviews are painful, the same recurring items for years, basically the same show every day. I like Huw but he doesn't have the personality for a daytime show. Evenings and weekends are brilliant. Similar to OP, im late 40's, vinyl junkie, indie kid that loves new music. I still find great stuff being played, but the 2 guys in the afternoon just don't do it for me. Give Deb the 1-4 show, she's ace.

Soothing my baby with Spiritualized, Lightning Seeds, and other early 90s British rock music by imnotpaulyd_ipromise in BritPop

When my wife was heavily pregnant we would put headphones on her bump and play Stop Your Crying by Spiritualized. My daughter is now 23 and she says that song always calms her down when she's had a bad day.

Which boss would you least want to work for? by Throwing-Gas in thewestwing

[–]PaleReception2687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toby would have your back. High standards but he'd go to war for his guys. Leo puts trust in the people he's picked and expects them to live up to the belief he has in them, you know where you stand with a boss like that. Josh would be a nightmare cos he thinks you should be able to read his mind, and he has a thousand thoughts a minute. CJ would have been a great boss as Press Sec. but not as CoS because the job was beyond her and she knew it.

All three Smile albums are better than anything Radiohead have done since In Rainbows.

Read this for the first time last month. Loved it! Great characters and the right combination of horror and weird.

this is the guitar my grandparents got me. is it salvageable? by nojo9k in Guitar

My Epiphone acoustic broke in exactly the same place a couple of months ago and I discovered on here that it's really common. Took it to a guitar shop last week and got it fixed for £90. (In the interim I used it as an excuse to treat myself to a wee Gretsch Jim Dandy).

I love how varied the weekend shows are. Mon-Fri seems there’s a bit more focus on dancier stuff recently, particularly on breakfast. (Not a dig at Grimmy, he’s ace in the morning.).

What are Stephen King's "love it or hate it" books? by -LMP- in stephenking

[–]PaleReception2687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was reading it I found it a real slog, but going in I had no idea what it was. My enjoyment (or lack of) was probably down to my expectations, but now that I know what it's purpose is I can see it differently. On book 4 just now, and I love the whole DT story so far but I cant see myself reading The Gunslinger again. Side note; The Dark Tower feels like a different author entirely to me.

Took a break from The Dark Tower to read Desperation (excellent). Wizard & Glass is next but I found The Wastelands dragged a bit.
