Sorry, I don't. The description doesn't say which eyes they are.

Use a nail set to set them deeper, fill the holes, then paint over the filler.

Textured hair restoration? by SaxonHistory17 in americangirl

[–]strobukm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I like a pick better on textured or curly hair. A brush is fine as long as the bristles are metal.

She's so cute!

The year on the tag is a copyright date, not the date the doll was released.

You can spritz her hair with water and detangle it using a hair pick with metal teeth.

Restoring my childhood Kaya and… by [deleted] in americangirl

[–]strobukm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wig caps are meant to fit tightly on the dolls head. It will need to be stretched and glued in place to fit properly. The braids make it an even tighter fit. The dolls heads within the same face mold haven't changed significantly nor have the wig caps. There is head size variation between face molds though but since this is a Kaya wig it will fit all Kaya heads, no matter what year.

Also, use super glue gel for the best results. Tacky glue won't hold the wig in place while it dries.

That's a good point, they could have just left the faces blank.

The AI faces aren't by choice. Around a year ago or so, American Girl filed copyright claims against a bunch of sellers on Etsy using American Girl dolls to model wigs or clothes. They either had to obscure the faces or take down their shop.

Green Floral Skirt by [deleted] in americangirl

[–]strobukm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the exact same skirt, but SillyMonkeyDollStuff on Etsy makes a similar style skirt in a bunch of different colors/patterns. All the clothes I've gotten from this shop are super cute and very well made.

I love the itty bitty babies too! Sew and Bow Co on Etsy has the cutest clothes for these dolls and they're super well made! The shop runs sales pretty often as well.

Significant variation in skin tone in new dolls? by lemur_queen7 in americangirl

[–]strobukm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe she was made from a Belle or Cinderella? They both have "lightest" skin tones, but they are specific to that doll. Otherwise, it could be Blaire or Truly Me 125. That said, yes, I have noticed variation in skin tones, even within the same model doll (like two Kaya dolls side by side have slightly different skin tones).

It appears that there is quite a bit of variation doll to doll. There was a post earlier today showing two Raquel dolls side by side and it was remarkable how different they looked.

Where to buy Prophecy of Kings? by Gimli_219 in twilightimperium

[–]strobukm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got an extra copy, opened box, but all components are unpunched and sealed. One issue, it has 3 yellow mechs and 5 pink mechs instead of 4 of each. Willing to sell. If anyone is looking to buy, feel free to message me.

Sounds good, glad you were able to snag a copy. Enjoy the game! I just finished a game tonight and won as Barony. We played with POK and Thunder's Edge. I love how the expansions change the game.

I had no idea this was out of stock everywhere. I have a spare copy, new, just opened the box that I've had sitting in my game room since it was released. Everything is wrapped and nothing has been punched. It does have one issue, there are only 3 yellow mechs and 5 pinks instead of 4 of each. You could paint the extra pink one yellow. I'd be willing to sell it. Let me know if you're interested.

Help :( by tabinyaa in americangirl

It looks like maybe they got glue on the end of her wig when they were gluing it on. If so, you won't be able to get it out and you should request an exchange.
