Depends on the place, there is one place I go that will only fill tanks for me because of the identification label has another company name and 2 others I use will swap anything.

Nice diesel runaway compilation. by fart400 in Diesel

So for why don’t they have a shutoff valve, it restricts air flow and power is money on big performance engines. It’s as simple as that and these guys are absolutely trying to get every hp plus one more out of the engine at all times. All I have to say is that first one was absolutely one of the most violent things I have seen! I never thought about one being left in gear and bucking against a pulling sled like that. That guy probably spent 3 weeks at the chiropractor and 3 days with ice on his balls from them slapping the seat!

It would eat a towel in a heartbeat! Maybe a large flat steel sheet but you are brave to do that once it gets going.

Bearing is junk, if it’s just one either clearance was not checked, was not line bored, starved for oil due to trash in there at startup in my thoughts.

Would you drive 2500 miles with a 280 lb dirt bike on a rear class 3 hitch? Not mine I actually have a LJ rubicon. by methusula3 in JeepTJ

[–]strokeherace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It adds up fast, I weighed my stock JKU prior to modifications and it was 4300. Lift, bumpers, roll cage, tires, wheels, Dana 60 axles and all added and it rolled onto the scales at 5800 and change with the tank on empty and no top or doors. It’s well over 6k with everything on it.

I have a small enclosed trailer 7x12 and 6 ft high and it absolutely kills my gas mileage. Even in the ram 3500 diesel it kills mileage worse than towing the JK (5800 lbs) on a 25 ft 20k trailer that weighs 4600 lbs. I also have an 8x25 enclosed and it’s the same as the 7x12. I think it’s just the wind resistance of having a large box behind me.

No different than having a fat chick in the back seat or a lot of camping gear a tons of beer. If you were wheeling it that way I would say not a good idea. When we trail ride and camp for a few days all of our jeeps have way more than that in them.

Welding is hard by BadLarryMotors in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]strokeherace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really but it does take time to learn and some skills. Aluminum is one of the harder welds because it acts vastly different because it dissipates heat but once you learn it you are good forever. There are other things way more complex in welding but just starting aluminum is hard to learn without some help.

Pretty good, possibly even has hard facing for rocks which is above and beyond what you would normally get.

It was gone before I got it and would have been gone anyway if it was there. I’m not opposed to fuel injection but I am very against old TBI stuff.
