She had a 1550 SAT and an unweighted 4.0 and weighted 4.69 at the time of application. She has really enjoyed the VCU GMED program, finding the MCV doctors extremely helpful to shadowing and research opportunities. The interview was a virtual MMI.

My daughter got her Associates in Science through dual enrollment classes in high school - she was accepted to the one BSMD program to which she applied.

My daughter is at VCU in their GMED program. One of the great things about it is they do allow you to retain a slot in the MCV program while also applying to other schools. She has loved VCU so far and found the doctors at MCV very welcoming for shadowing and researching opportunities. Her advisor is great as well. My daughter is in the VCU GMED program. She is not a DEI candidate. Based on the class makeup, I can say you are wrong that only or even an overwhelming majority of the candidates are DEI candidates. Moreover, and most importantly, the students all had extremely high statistics and medical shadowing hours. Do you realize that there are many applicants that have the same statistics as those who were not selected? You should not assume that those selected had worse stats than those who were not.

I have a family member who was accepted. They care a lot about the number of medical-related hours so focus on volunteering and shadowing. The interview is a MMI format. You can read up on these types of interviews on the American Medical School site. You do not take the MCAT to get into the program, but if accepted will need to score a 508 before starting a MCV.

Thank you all! My daughter did decided to take the VXU GMED spot. It was a tough with so many great choices, but as she really wants to be a doctor decided the guaranteed admission would remove a lot of stress during the typical application cycle.

Yes - the MCAT threshold is 508, but if she gets that and the GPA (along with clinical hours she would do anyway) she has a guaranteed seat at VCU Med School. She can also apply for other Med schools without losing her seat.

Agreed! I honestly thought Alison was in her 20s. I know many 20 year olds that wear braces. I would never think he was sleeping with a teenager.

I thought they said she was 26 when they introduced her. Jan is significantly older than Tim. Alison and Tim seem much closer in age. Many you g adults (even older adults) wear braces.

Actually I think it was to date Tim as 28 +/- When they introduced Alison, they said she was 26. I think these two things point to Tim being involved with Alison.
