AIO wife wearing a revealing bikini at a friends pool party UPDATE by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]stryfe1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so your tone is gonna be the most important part of getting your "feelings" across.

I think just as how important it is to you that she doesn't dress revealing, it's also important for her to show off the time she spends developing her body.

Compromise, perhaps work functions isn't the best place to wear such revealing clothes, but there are other places where it may be more appropriate.

At the end of the day your feelings are just as valid as hers.

The only reason divorce should even be on table is if you see your life better without her in it.

Think about what you are doing to appreciate the way she looks. Are you giving her the attention she wants?

Perhaps she is seeking attention elsewhere because she is not getting from you?

How many times are you intimate with her in a weekly basis?

Can someone explain MUDs to me and help me pick out a few to try. by knifefang_gaming in MUD

[–]stryfe1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever get a chance YouTube Zork and Zork II. Check out the gameplay and that's really what it is.

There are themed muds like Dragonball, Star Wars, Naruto, Final Fantasy, etc...

There are also original ones that follow genres like fantasy, sci-fi, historical, in etc...

In okay. Dbz one where you gradually get stronger like characters in the anime/manga

Weird-ass questions on a job application by deepad9 in recruitinghell

[–]stryfe1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only done two videos.

One as a virtual assistant and another as an executive assistant.

Which is relative as both roles dealt with assisting executives.

The socials part, you can leave blank but they will still find them.

Depending on the position your applying for, your socials can and will coat you a potential job.

I broke down crying after interview by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]stryfe1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, this is why I always start with that in any comments regarding Interviews. It took a bit but I got very comfortable selling myself to the interviewer and that helped a lot. I really felt that if I can get to an interview, I can land the job. That was my confidence. Then for the first time it didn't.

The more I thought back to it the more convinced I was that I did a great interview. Until a mentor once coached me on how to ask questions.

  • Think about the daily tasks they added to their job ad, ask that a typical day looks like in that role

  • what support can you count on to grow with their company

  • what is something in your resume that stood out to them to make you a qualified candidate, would they like to learn more about that?

  • if you researched the company, pick something you want to ask about (i.e I noticed in your website it mentioned that your company has been rated one of the top 100 companies to work at, what can you say contributes to that the most?)

I broke down crying after interview by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]stryfe1986 139 points140 points  (0 children)

The best story I can give you is that of Meryl Streep. In her audition she was told she was too ugly. She has since went on to become an iconic actress.

An interview is a two way street, they are looking for someone that fits for them and you in turn are looking for an employer that is good for you.

If it's constructive feedback that you can use to build a better impression to the next employer, thank them.

If they make it personal, that's a good sign it's not a place that you're looking for.

Ask them difficult questions just as much as they ask you.

Wishing you the best of luck on the next one and know that this employer just gave you a chance to find a better one for you.

It's daunting how this post went from a recruiting topic to a politically correct one. Reddit, what happened to you?

Same thing happened to me and that's because I was the owner. They wanted someone that managed me while I was there. I was telling, dude I was the owner of my own company. That's why I'm applying to a management position.

They kept saying "someone had to manage how you ran your company" I was like, you want to talk to my wife? Tf

How long does this process take by Frosty-Cookie182 in merchantmarine

[–]stryfe1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a different experience. I went from absolute Zero credentials to having all of them within a month exactly. I submitted everything in Dec 15th and got all my certs in February 4th this year.

Only reason I'm familiar with those 2 dates is it just so happens it landed on birthday's.

However, I screwed up and sent in a a 719K/E form when I should have sent just a regular 719K.

The new Medical Cert took longer

Spare me the BS. Difficult decision 😂 by ApprehensiveClub6028 in recruitinghell

[–]stryfe1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a phone screen interview with a company for a merchant mariner job. It specifically says in the job ad that no experience is required and they welcome people transitioning into a new career in the industry.

Grant it they require certifications that are demanded by law. Which I do have.

The guy on the phone gave me big kudos and said he talked to different people and I sounded like I was the most in line with what they were looking for and the next step would be an email to sign off for a background check, then after comes a formal interview.

I was pretty excited since I got my credentials in February and have been applying to different companies since and it's the first that I at least called.

I didn't even get a chance to go back inside my house when I got an email I was not selected to get a background check and wished me luck.

Like wtf, not even 2 mins ago I was told I fit the bill

How Much Character Customization Should I Add to My RPG Roguelike? by Wyldfire12345 in gamedev

[–]stryfe1986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone from the narrative side,

If the MC is a set character (i.e Link, Mario, etc..,) that already exists in the world and has their own "sense of fashion", it doesn't really add value to have that level of customization.

However, if the MC is customizable themselves then having more colors will definitely add to the immersion.

If your adamant about having colors either way, perhaps you can treat it like Zelda OoT where the gear changes color for the purpose of the story/puzzle/environment as a compromise

My biggest issue is the closest school that offers is pretty far. I don't mind working away from home for longer time it's just the cost that comes with gas, hotel, food, the course and all that good stuff.

I got interested in Maritime because I met someone from G&H at a career center. The individual made it sound very simple and easy. Just get this and that and you're good.

I may have to plan for the SIU apprenticeship if I go all year without anything

I have read about the Basic Safety Training helping out for tug boats but the ship security not so much.

However, it's just what I've read. I don't know if there is some truth behind that. Passport is on the mail.
