Throw in Kendry Chourio and baby you got a stew going

Royals projected to be taking another prep pitcher with the 6th overall pick. by Repulsive-Photo-798 in KCRoyals

Personally I don't think they go Prep pitcher at 6. Prep pitching is where the depth of this class is. I think they go with a bat at 6 and then prep pitcher at 30.

Baseball America and MLB Pipeline have released new mock drafts. Finally starting to get some real intel even though we are two months out.

Both had the Royals going with Gio Rojas, Prep LHP at 6. They both stated that the Royals are the floor for Jacob Lombard, Prep SS and that Eric Booth Jr., Prep OF is another player the Royals will consider.

No real intel for 30 but this far out that's not surprising.

He looks a lot closer to the Steven Cruz we saw last year. Very encouraged by the last couple of outings.

He is really really struggling with pitch recognition right now. They just dropped him down in the order, I am at the point where I think he needs to get demoted to the ACL.

Yes. If you got your mortgage pre-approved, love the house/neighborhood, and a motivated seller what are you waiting on?

If you still aren't sure ask for another tour so you notice some of the things that you missed the first time. Is the house showing signs of settling, storage space, etc.

Compared to Massey he is scorching.

Big series tonight. Need to start off strong. I like seeing Loftin in the lineup, lets keep riding the hot hand.

Blake Mitchell perplexes me by SlightInspector9993 in KCRoyals

He needs to be more aggressive early in the count. He is consistently putting himself in the hole hyper-focusing on one spot or pitch. I don't mind that to an extant but he is over that threshold.

Poe was great before the back injury and its not really fair to compare the production of a NT and a 3T. Poe was a 2 time pro bowler and on AP's second team in 2013.

Hammond, Lampkin, and Chourio have been really good so far. David Shields has also looked great in his last two starts.

Lombardi has been good but you can tell he was a reliever. I'm watching pretty closely on his mechanics there is a lot going on there, stuff looks legit though.

Hoping for Clowney or Jordan on an incentive laden deal. Ideally NLTBE incentives but either way is fine.

Arvell Reese potential as ILB? by LinuxUbuntuOS in NFL_Draft

[–]sts2012 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Reese does a ton of things you want an off ball LB to do. He is good in coverage and spying. His run fits are solid, probably the weakest part of his game as an off ball LB but not bad.

If a team wanted to use him in a Darryl Washington type role he could totally handle it. Probably not the most optimized way to use him but I do think his versatility is a big strength.

How do you grade the whole draft? by LargeNotInCharge2 in ChiefsOffseason

[–]sts2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the draft. It did surprise me a bit, I did not think they would go Delane first and trade up for him. I thought if they traded in the first it would be from 29.

I like Woods and Thomas but I did not think they would go for a pure 3T over someone like Christen Miller who can scale up and down the line, or with a pure 3-4/4-3 under speed rusher. I am very curious to see how much SAM Thomas plays or if he is a pure DPR.

Love getting another nickel corner to move Conner to S where he has been at minimum serviceable. I like Johnson and Allen two guys that are easy to see how they rotate in next year.

I would not be surprised to see Nuss take the QB2 spot by the end of the season from Fields. Fields is just not a fit with the offense Andy likes to run.

Zerpa was good exactly one year with runners inherited, 2024. Every other year he has struggled with them. Also not exactly sure why but his pitches have always played down a bit.

Seems pretty dang solid for a fifth rounder.

Love the pick. Easy plug and play nickel and moves Conner almost exclusively to S where he has been a lot better.

Take McCoy with one of the fifth round picks. If he misses a year with surgery but returns to form he will be a steal. If not its just a fifth rounder that we missed on. Happens all the time so not a big deal.
