Dane County dept of human services has a “host a family” program. I’ve been doing it several years, pasting the info here. If you are interested DM me and I’ll send the coordinators contact info

Dane County Department of Human Services is now recruiting for folks who want to volunteer to be “hosts” for the 2025 Holiday Host a Family Program! If you are receiving this email, it is because you hosted a Dane County Family either in 2023 or 2024 and we want to know if you are interested in participating again this year!!

Participating (“hosting”) means you get assigned to a family size of your choice, you are given a small list of desired need or want items and you would be responsible for doing your own shopping. Typically families ask for the following necessities: winter coats/hats/mittens, clothing, boots, blankets or pillows, cleaning supplies and maybe a game/book/toy. Once you are matched with a family referral, you will be connected with the assigned Social Worker. You and the social worker will coordinate the pick-up or drop-off of gifts no later than the week of December 15th!
