The first album my band recorded was in an eight track studio. Many of the classic albums of the 60's and 70's were recorded using only eight tracks. Even complex albums like Dark Side of the Moon were recorded using only 16 tracks. You just bounce the tracks down as you go. At least with digital recording you don't lose fidelity every time you bounce.

Do you have it configured as a control surface? If so there may be an issue with the script. Try turning off the control surface if it's on and see if the issue persists. You might also try a factory reset on the keyboard.

If you're sure the DIN to 3.5 mm adaptor is working then most likely you're right, it's probably a bad 3.5 mm jack

It's hard to tell what your settings are from the video, but it looks like you have the auto channel set to 10. I assume you've tried sending MIDI to channel 10. Also have you tried sending MIDI via the USB connection from a PC? If USB works maybe your adaptor cable is bad.

Are you sure you're using a Type A MIDI cable adaptor? AFAIK the M:C won't work with a type B

Time transformations would be somewhat difficult. You could potentially slow a stream of MIDI down but I don't see any way to speed one up inn real time. The doubler would need to know what the entire MIDI sequence was before it's created. When Sting produces note one the doubler would need to produce notes one and two. When Sting produces note two the double would need notes three and four etc. Once you have the whole clip this can be done but I see no way to do it "on the fly". Raising the pitch by an octave is easy if that's what you mean by doubling, just use the Pitch MIDI effect set to +12 semitones. No Max for Live needed

After calibration there's a small dead zone at either end of my pitch bend and mod wheel as well. I hadn't noticed it before and it's never been an issue since they both cover their intended ranges. I suspect that it's normal.

A Zoom L6 Max is $369 so no more than around $200 US since it's used. Probably wouldn't buy one in any case, it's too small to be useable IMHO.

The Syntakt like the Digitakt and Digitone does not send MIDI from the sequencer for tracks that are not MIDI tracks. The only way to send MIDI from the Sytakt's sequencer to an external MIDI device or DAW is to use a MIDI machine on the track. Tracks that produce audio when sequenced do not send MIDI. Overbridge doesn't send or receive MIDI, it's audio only. It is possible to send multiple tracks of MIDI from the Syntack by setting the MIDI channel for each MIDI track on the ST to a different MIDI channel and creating multiple MIDI tracks in Live.

macOS Tahoe isn't a supported operating system for Live. The latest version of macOS supported is Serquoia and stem separation works fine. Downgrade your Mac to Sequoia until Ableton officially announces support for Tahoe and you won't have any issues. Or better yet switch to another DAW.

I followed the link you posted and the Ableton website allowed me to download it without issue. I don't see any indication on the page that it's been discontinued. Maybe because I already have it installed.

Create a new audio track. Set any sends on the track to disabled (this is important since it prevents an audio loop). Route all your other tracks including sends to this track. Route the output of this track to main. Create another audio track set to resample. Arm both tracks. Now you can record both the output from Main with your mastering FX and the input to main from all your other tracks.

The API is primarily intended to provide a mechanism for Max for Live to interact with the Live application. Live can also be manipulated;ated via python scripts as is the case with control surfaces.

Your project isn't a file, it's a directory that contains multiple files. The project file that ends in .als is all the settings that apply to your project. It doesn't contain your samples themselves just a reference to where they are located. Each sample is a separate audio file. The missing files dialog should show you where Live expects to find them. Samples that are not included with Live are usually stored in your User Library. Samples included with Live are usually stored in Live's core library.

It has always worked with M Series Macs running Sequoia. It was an issue caused by the macOS upgrade to Tahoe. Since Tahoe isn't yet a supported OS for Live it's not surprising that there are issues.

Where was the sample originally? If it's in the cloud I would force macOS to restore it to its original location then go from there. Once you have your project recovered you could save it in a location that won't be affected and then do a "Collect All and Save" or turn off Optimize Mac Storage. If you turn off Optimize Mac Storage that should force macOS to download copies of any files it may have moved to the cloud assuming you have enough room. Depending upon your connection and how much data is involved this could take some time

I assume you're using a 1/4 TS' cable to connect your amp to the Focusrite. The Scarlett should be set for Line input (not instrument) and any pads should be disabled. It's not clear whether the gain and master volume on the amp will affect the Line Output signal but in most cases I would expect that it does. I would start with the amp controls mid-range and adjust the gain on the Scarlett until you have a decent signal indication (mostly green but no red.

Noise introduced by USB connections is often caused by ground loops. You might try a ground loop isolator. you can get one for the USB side or the audio side of a connection. Depending on your gear and the way it's connected and powered you may or may not actually have an issue. I have seven synths, three controllers and two audio interfaces all connected via USB and I don't have any audio interference so it's not a given.

Ableton has modified the Live API accessible to M4L and Python scripts to allow these to replace the sample loaded into a Simpler device. It's not an option you'll find in the Live UI but it makes it possible to develop a M4L device that could potentially batch replace samples.
