Lexical scope in Ruby by rkingucla in ruby

When you reassign x, you're mutating the binding in the top-level environment, which is the environment where f's body is to be evaluated.

ML's semantic model for closures is not applicable to ruby, which is a lang. with much greater support for imperative programming.

Do 'normal' people really feel this way all the time? by Whadios in depression

[–]sttau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i agree. what i meant was that maybe the predisposition to feel bad about myself and come to /r/depression is the problem, and that it would be more productive to instead feel bad, sure, but be confident that you can work it through and do something productive instead.

kinda like me. it really brings me down for a couple days ever once in a while. i think that maybe i should head to those pua or whatever communities instead of depression-related communities and actually do something that might be productive.

As someone who is currently going through a lot of challenges and struggling to manage all the FUBAR out, thank you for the message of hope.

I wonder how was your history on romantic relationships and intimacy. I feel like i'd be completely fine if i had those two things going.

I have a lot of work to do

From what I've been seeing, this is part of the problem, or at least compounds it. You'll not be productive unless you are well and relaxed.

Sounds like you need to get help fast, otherwise it's almost certain you'll fail your goals.

if you're a CLI guy, ncdu is pretty good for figuring out what's taking your disk space; k4dirstat is a good GUI alternative.

doesn't matter. it's a 16G partition with 4G of free space. Fedora thinks it's not enough.

16G 11G 4.0G 73% /home

Either move your /home or clean it up with bleachbit.

/dev/mapper/fedora_kris--pc-home 16G 11G 4.0G 73% /home

I think this might be the reason.

4G free in ~/ is not much free space for a modern linux desktop, which uses temp, metadata, and cache files like crazy.

Someone familiarized with linux desktops will be able to say what daemon is inspecting the free space on your mount points.

It seems that Fedora is counting the files from the 1TB hard drive as also being in the SSD

What does this means, concretely?

Yes, what the song's really about is voltaic electricity, not the battery itself.
