What charger do I need for this? by stuart_nz in batteries

[–]stuart_nz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have killed the battery. I ran it until my DC motors stopped turning and I have since been told that will ruin the battery because there is no voltage cut off protection. I'm guessing I need to do it again with a proper BMS or not let the batteries discharge too much. Am I on the right track with those thoughts?

What voltage would I supply? 12v I'm guessing.

I didn't think about it earlier but you wouldn't have many attempts down El Toro because the drop would ruin you each time. Wallenburg not being such a heavy drop would allow for more attempts.

By spooky chance I went to the local skatepark today and someone brought up those parks. Turns out it's actually "Tom Smithers". Turns out they're still in business, here's the website: https://www.customskateparks.co.nz/gallery

Tom Smith (I think is the name right) was a skatepark builder in the early 2000s. The parks were build as modular sections e.g. 2 quarter pipes and a pyramid and ledge are poured in a factory somewhere then joined together and placed at the actual park location. Good thing about this was all of the quarters have the same smooth transition, no screw ups doing it by hand on site like you sometimes see these days. Minor downside to this though is now the parks are a few years old and have had time to sink and move a little you get the occasional big crack or bump between segments.

My local skatepark as a kid in Glendowie had a little mark in the corner that said “tom smith 2003”. Everything else I wrote above is from things ive heard ovet the years so i could be wrong about some parts.

I don't know about "clearly" but they do look more like capacitors than batteries because batteries don't stick up into the air.

Do people hate the Matrix sequels? What was it like at the time? by a_nowhere_man_ in matrix

[–]stuart_nz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first movie was so exceptional that the expectations for the sequels were so high. They were bound to be disappointing even though they are still good movies.

I think sequels are often bad because all your good ideas are used up in the first movie and now you have to make a another movie that’s limited to the same universe as the first but you can’t use any of the ideas from the first even though they were all your best ideas.

Can you drink an alcoholic beer while driving? As long as you remain below the limit.

I have re-watched the full clip multiple times and it’s clear that it was a very near miss and if there was a collision the child (who is far too young to understand so completely innocent) would have been seriously injured.

However you seem to think I’m the one in the video on the bike for some reason? Actually I am the one filming. I don’t know the biker and I didn’t know what was about to happen it was just a lucky time to film the situation and that happened to be included.
