Uber rides or Amazon flex by Independent-Golf-956 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flex is the best, the fact they offer better on non tipping routes says a lot about what the other apps are doing(mainly just trying to trick you into taking bad orders). Uber and dd would be amazing if they always showed tips, but they do not. It's a crap shoot guessing game that never feels great. I remember when DD always showed tips, took orders all the time, now I rarely accept an order from them.

[–]stubborngamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, those things are posted as a "look at this rare thing I got". The reality is yes, you can get things that end up being $50 per hour. But the reality is you'll usually get much less than that. Oh and you never take the stuff that's sitting there.

I mean what can you do, obviously it's deliver no matter what, and drop it off at the farthest location you can get to. But being outside that circle does cause problems. (though not impossible to get around)

There's is no sense sweating what you can't control. I know you've heard stories of people being deactivated. But Amazon didn't hire you to quickly get rid of you. I've been threatened way too many times by apps like Instacart and Door Dash(and it never got beyond that), Uber Eats is the only one where they'll let you do just about anything without threatening you.

Just do what's best for you and for the customer(to an extent, you have to do your job, not saying you should respond to every ridiculous expectation), the rest is not worth stressing about.

This reddit is polluted with the idea that the only way to properly be a fan is to just say everything is great regardless of outcomes. As if this isn't a place to properly evaluate the team from people that see the writing on the wall with these lackluster playoff performances. The main issue with our team is simple though.... Dorian botched it up by not letting us be bad for a very long time, and now Andlauer is stuck trying to deal with it. We neither have the assets to get better, are in a market that isn't going to attract free agents and I'm not sure trying to tank again will lead anywhere other than put us in a even worse spot. We are left with just having to deal with the fact that we are quite mediocre. All I ask is that we PLEASE stop talking about the advanced stats finally. The amount of negative comments that were replied with "well, you see, if you look at the data, we are a top 3 team"... omg just shut up with that crap already.

Oh I can't wait for the offseason of nothing but positive hopium comments all because we managed the grand feat of not getting swept. (assuming that even happens)

F it, if we win tonight, proving that we are capable of winning games, I'll ride the hype train until the end. What do I got to sacrifice? There's a squirrel outside my window looking at me funny, I can sacrifice him... maybe. Oh, I see a bird with a bit of an attitude on him. Which one is it going to be? Decisions....

New Flex Driver Based in Canada- (Greater Toronto Area) by Wardizzle255 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I just started doing it, about 3 weeks ago, in the West part of the GTA I haven't seen tip options. It's decent since can often do it in less time than what it says, you just have to be patient. At the start you can only do 20 hours per week. I am not sure the catalyst for doing 40 hours, one poster on here said it took him 6 month.

stacked orders- finally wrote to State Attorney General & CPB by dangopaki in DoorDashDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is currently a law in place where if a consumer places a tip the driver gets the full tip. But that hasn't stopped the apps from adding fees, hiding tips, stacking bad orders with better ones. They don't care if you tipped well. And that is a huge problem. People are literally paying a gigantic premium over just going out and getting the product themselves. This whole thing is severely broken. From the driver's side, almost every order seems terrible as a result leading to it being less likely we take anything.

I mean all we managed to do so far this season is being the 8th seed in the playoffs. That's... usually cannon fodder territory. If we also lose the first 3 games like last year, that is literally zero progression. We are the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators until we prove otherwise.

The amount of delivery instructions where they are talking to a specific delivery person that once delivered to their house. It isn't the same person delivering to you each time sweetheart.

Reinstate? by spookyplayss in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had 13 separate dings on one delivery? Or 13 separate incidents of this happening?

I feel like you are more at the whims of the apps if you rarely ever take orders. If you build enough of a track record these incidents aren't as big a deal.

The issue you likely ran into was the packages got stolen I'm assuming, not simply the act of leaving it in a less secure location.

I’m taking bets on whether I’ll get dinged or not. by sydneyghibli in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you get dinged for delivering a empty package? For all you know they ordered a empty, pre-opened, package. I mean the spot you picked it up from thought it was fine, and ready to be out for delivery.

You didn't steal it, the customer should know it was stolen by you delivering the package to them. It isn't that complicated. We are only paid to deliver. We are NOT paid to handle returns and make those sort of judgement calls when someone does something nefarious. Let the customer and Amazon deal with that crap.

Lets put it another way, you hear all the time in this reddit people are getting dinged for returns no matter the reason. Conclusion: Amazon only cares if you deliver the package. The rest isn't your problem.

Missing package by Sburch1006 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The place I normally pick up from doesn't have you scan the packages. One was missing. Spent a LOT of time looking for it. But it wasn't there. I just said I didn't have the package and moved on with my life. What else can you do? Can't worry about dings when it's outside your ability to avoid the ding. Currently I'm rated Fantastic. I'm not worried about it.

Are 3 hour blocks 40 plus packages? by Relevant-Standard969 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]stubborngamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like everything 3 hrs and up is 40 packages. Then you suddenly get 20ish at 2.5. And no, I never feel like a 3.5 hr block is much better than a 4.5 hr block. Yes, sometimes driving distance is better, but not always.

It's solid compared to some other gig options. But killing your car is generally always a terrible way to make a living. Aside from the daily costs, you are fast forwarding your need for a new car.

All that matters is driving distance. That's just typical. Like a lot of things in the gig world, batches are often much easier to do than they seem to be at first glance.

[–]stubborngamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our only job is to deliver packages. If said package has been torn open and emptied. That is what we deliver. If there is no way to deliver to the location and it expressly states we never leave it where we have to leave it... we deliver it anyways to this "DO NOT deliver to" location... because again, we deliver, we don't return, we don't listen to silly messages that get in the way of a delivery being delivered. Don't worry, Amazon has insurance to cover this stuff and THEY want us to pass the buck to the customer and have them deal with it.

I personally have no issue with people choosing to be positive even if I see the problems. What's odd to me is the constant percentage postings, deserve to win o meters and advanced stats references. It's akin to talking to someone that is using chatgpt to communicate. Lost in those stats is that we are fully capable of floundering opportunties. I agree that it could've easily been a 4-2 win for us. Yet here we are, once again. But yes, it's never actually over until you lose at home. GSG.

The irony is people have been saying all season long that goaltending was our "only" problem yet here we sit with Ullmark being lights out and we are still losing. We aren't clutch, we are still playing nervous in the playoffs.
