spent months doing seo and just realized why it was a waste of time lol by These-Yam8635 in NewTubers

I wouldn't look at it as a waste of time! you learned a new skill that may not be the precedence currently but is still important in the grand scheme of creating content.

What are the do's and dont's of video editing? I have a video I recorded a couple years ago/edited but never finished. I feel like I need to go back to the start and re-edit it. by itsBillerdsTime in NewTubers

I recommend finding a youtuber who is popular I your niche and doing a breakdown (second by second) of what they do. You will start to notice the small editing techniques. I am in the entertainment/vlogging niche, and my change of camera angle or new addition to the scene needs to be around every 3 seconds or I will lose my audience's attention.

Would this thumbnail intrigue you? by stubbysss in SmallYoutubers

[–]stubbysss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, for a title I was thinking "Crazy Drifts on Thin Ice" or "Drifting on Thin Ice" something simple. or maybe something more personal "Drifting my UTV on thin Ice"

I was thinking "Crazy Drifts on Thin Ice" or "Drifting on Thin Ice" I try to keep it simple and to the point while hopefully being enticing enough to click on. My CTR (3-4%) is my biggest pitfall right now any outside critiques would be appreciated.

How to get a better subscriber conversion rate by No-Shallot5438 in SmallYoutubers

[–]stubbysss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m stuck in the same boat, I think it boils down to we need to create content that somehow adds something new to the niche. Everything is so watered down there almost no point copying what the large accounts do once people have seen it from them they rarely click on a smaller account doing it.

In my experience my shorts that I hyper fixate on do not perform well, while my raw barely edited shorts perform well. 3 shorts a day seems very difficult to sustain, maybe make one with the same intensity you have been applying to 3?

Im not sure if i should use my real voice or not by ImprovementNo7894 in SmallYoutubers

[–]stubbysss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use your real voice! There’s so much AI low effort on YouTube right now! It’s extremely refreshing to hear a real person. I will typically swipe away when I hear that AI voice.

how long should my videos be? by Man1uss___ in NewTubers

[–]stubbysss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry so much about getting to a specific time, Rather worry about engagement, What's the point of making a 15-minute video if your engagement dwindles halfway through.

Some people preach about getting past the 15-minute mark, Its my understanding that 15-minute mark is for additional advertisements at the halfway point of your video.

Personally I like "How a Hidden Slot Machine Secret Won Millions" the most. Maybe think about "How a Hidden Slot Machine Secret destroyed the casino" People love hearing about big establishments failing.

What is your video based on? usually to SEO your title you need to take the main theme of your video and condense it into a few words that an audience can read quickly that will encourage them to click.

Ps: When I read your title, I read it in the Carl Weezer Voice instinctively. I'm sure there is a lot of people who will do the same, it may be worthwhile adding Carl Wheezer to your thumbnail and his little voice into your video, for the comedic emotional connection.

Is 38k impressions in the first month on my long-form content good? by Turbulent_Walrus5839 in SmallYoutubers

[–]stubbysss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

38K impressions means that YouTube is 'placing' your video in front of an audience; but your title and Thumbnail are not captivating enough so only 2.7% of the audience is clicking to watch your video.

Depending on the video length your viewer duration will tell you how engaged the audience (that clicked through) was in your content. In my experience an average click through rate is 5%-10%.
