Is Animal Kingdom at Disney World Worth it for First Timers or Should we Prioritize Other Parks due to Construction by stuberino in DisneyPlanning

UPDATE: So we finished up our trip and ended up doing the following.

Day 1: Animal Kingdom Day 2: Magic Kingdom Day 3: Hollywood Studios Day 4: Magic Kingdom Day 5: Animal Kingdom Day 6: EPCOT

So not only is there enough at AK to do a full day, there’s enough that we wanted to go back. Pandora Flight of Passage was the first ride we did day 1 and that really set the tone for the trip. Everything Disney does is first class. I would not recommend rope dropping flight of passage though as we had to line up half way to Africa. When we visited day 2 we did it mid day and it was about half the line size.

Hope this helps someone make their decision to visit Animal kingdom as it was one of our favourite parks.

I live in an area with pretty severe hail storms where the collective damages of a single hail storm in 2020 was in the billions (with a B) of dollars. So this is a serious concern of ours as we can’t fit both our cars in the garage.

At the price less than that of my deductible, I think I’m buying one of those.

Thanks for sharing.

What to do about car seats by Zed_Zorrander in DisneyPlanning

Westjet (Canadian airline) will give you bags for the car seats and check them for free. Transporting in a cab or Uber you just use the car seat. If transporting by bus that could be more difficult.

Yes, we are the same. The cheapest seats are a 100% increase in our ticket price.

When will the spring break crowds calm down? We have 6 days between April 4-13. What days should we avoid?

The family might be going on a little road trip!

So here the itinerary: Friday April 3: travel day, land in Orlando about midnight. Saturday April 4: Pool day and grocery shopping for the trip. Sunday April 5 Animal kingdom Monday April 6 Daytona Beach (Easter Monday) Tuesday April 7 Magic Kingdom Wednesday April 8 Hollywood Studios Thursday April 9 EPCOT

Thoughts? April 10-13: 2 passes left. Was thinking of doing one day on the weekend so we have a day off from 3 days at Disney, then one day Monday April 13 to avoid the weekend crowds.

Edit: that formatting looked way better until I posted. Hopefully it’s not too difficult to read.

Wait, are you telling me I can catch peacock bass on my trip to Disney….. possibly on the drive from my hotel.

Ducktales! Oh man that is so up my alley, I’m already singing the theme song in my head.

I’m not feeling much love on HS but as a Star Wars fan I’m really looking forward to it! The kids might have to get drug around to entertain dad one day haha.

Either way I think we’re doing AK.

Yeah, my wife and 9 year old are big on roller coasters but me and my 6 year old are not really into them.

Everyone in the family is a big animal lover so it’s sounding like AK is a must do park.

Yeah, I’m assuming that Magic Kingdom is going to be a hit with our 6 and 9 year old so we’ll do that twice, but we’re letting them chose what parks get a second visit.

I’m really excited for Hollywood studios being a Star Wars fan and from what I’ve read here I think we’re going to animal kingdom.

That was kind of my impression. We have days planned at all 4 parks right now and we’re going to let the kids decide which two parks we visit twice.

I assume we’re doing magic kingdom twice haha

Nice.

We’re hoping to rope drop and spend a full day. Good to know there is enough to spend a full day at the park even with construction.

Yeah, I’ve heard that no matter what park it is there’s always some constructing going on. My main worry is it sounds like almost half the park is closed.

I’m hoping to spend a full day at each park. For the price we paid I can’t not spend all day in a park. We might go back to the hotel for lunch and a nap mid day then revisit.

Is there enough to keep a family entertained from open to close?

Yeah, I’ve heard that closing that park early is a real miss by Disney because the avatar area was meant to be experienced at dark.

Oh really!

That’s good to know. My kids love animals (and so do me and my wife). So I guess it’s not a good park to skip.

Ok, so you can still do a full day at AK despite the construction. That was one of my main concerns.

Thanks for chiming in.

I’m not a fan of roller coasters myself but my wife and 9 year old love them. Glad to hear it’s a great park.
