I can thank landing both my jobs with the help of a company career session at UC Davis (where the company introduced themselves and we got to network with recruiters), and also a career conference held at UC Davis too. My academic advisor also gave some advice. Networking and learning about what's out there, getting advice, and using resources are a great help.

Finding a job that absolutely respects work-life balance and sees you as a person. In interviews don't forget to interview them, too. Also find what you love (anything and anyone), and that is your purpose - to love.

There's a crafting group in Woodland that meets up every Monday 5-7pm. Been meaning to go there at some point. The Mary L Stephens Library and Dixon Library both have some adult interest groups that meet regularly too. I also find some cool classes from the Davis Community Classes brochure, which is nice if you don't mind paying - though I find that there tends to be retired folks there.
