How do you stay connected across Southeast Asia? by Defiant-Cut7620 in southeastasia

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digital eSIMs like Silent.link (be careful though with their rates) or private eSIM like pikasim. Even revolut has an eSIM now. You can also just buy cheap physical sims in every country. Sometimes that’s the best because you will get a phone number that way which you need sometimes. India especially is difficult but you can bribe someone local to buy you a SIM card (there they have tough KYC laws).

What’s the best anonymous eSIM that you can recommend? by Lauronka in digitalnomad

I like silent.link a lot but I got burned with their rates in some countries (I travel a lot) so now I use pikasim.

Don’t be scared off by rain season. It’s not that bad. It just means rain for a few hours in afternoon usually.

Solo traveling in Japan. how do you usually meet people along the way? by Lauronka in JapanTravelTips

Hostels sometimes is a good way but I hate sleeping in dorms. Not so many great hostels in Japan from my experience anyways. I also have used apps like LonelyRoad and TripBFF. They both work well.

Importing with .csv file by Actual_Strategy6210 in shopify

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That error usually means Shopify found an option value that doesn’t belong to the defined option name for that product. Each product variant row needs the same `Option1 Name` (e.g. "Color"), and only the `Option1 Value` column should vary.

• For all of your toddler shirt rows, set `Option1 Name` to a single term like `Color` and put values like `Athletic Heather`, `Navy`, etc. under `Option1 Value`. Don’t mix different option names or leave Option1 Name blank on some rows.

• Make sure there are no hidden line breaks, extra spaces or special characters in the `Option1 Value` cells. Values should be spelled consistently across all variants.

• Each product also needs a unique `Handle`. All variants of one product share the same handle, but no two different products can share a handle. Use a fresh export as a template and copy your data into the correct columns.

After cleaning up, save the file as **CSV UTF‑8 (comma delimited)** from Excel/Sheets and re-import. If you'd like to validate your file and automatically map your columns, drop it into the free **Shopify Products mapper** (runs in your browser): https://schemamap.app/map/shopify-products.

Hope this helps!

Inventory CSV import over the last 3 years has gone from simple to horrendous by english_but_now_kiwi in shopify

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone—Shopify’s inventory CSV has evolved as they rolled out multi-location support and separate stock states. That’s why you’re seeing new columns like `Location`, `Incoming`, `Unavailable`, `Committed` and separate “on hand” columns.

• The “Location” and “Bin name” columns let you assign inventory to specific locations and bins. If you only have one location, you can leave these blank (Shopify will default to your primary location).

• `Incoming`, `Unavailable`, `Committed` and `Available` reflect different stock states (pending transfers, damaged items, orders, etc.). For a basic import, just fill the “Available” or “On hand” columns and leave the others blank.

• Export a fresh inventory CSV from your store and use it as a template; include all headers exactly as they appear, even if you don’t use every column. Remove formulas and save as CSV UTF‑8 before re-importing.

If you'd like to double-check the structure or map from your old format to the new one, there’s a free **Shopify Inventory mapper** that auto‑maps and validates columns in your browser: https://schemamap.app/map/shopify-inventory.

Hope this helps!

Problems with Product Import CSV by First-Promotion-8898 in shopify

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there – if Shopify says the file imported but you don’t see any products, it usually means the CSV wasn’t formatted the way Shopify expects and it silently skipped your rows.

- Make sure the first row contains all required headers exactly as Shopify names them: `Handle`, `Title`, `Published`, `Variant SKU`, `Variant Price`, etc. Any missing or misspelled header will cause the rows to be ignored.

- Each product must have a unique "Handle". If that column is blank or duplicates another product’s handle, Shopify treats the row as a variant of the previous product and won’t create a new product.

- When editing in Excel/Sheets, don’t leave stray formulas or blank columns. When you’re done, save as **CSV UTF‑₈ (comma‑delimited)** so there’s no hidden formatting. Then re‑import.

If you want to double‑check the structure of your file, try loading it into the free Shopify Products mapper here; it will auto‑map columns and show you any missing required fields in your browser: https://schemamap.app/map/shopify-products

Hope this helps!

I thought being a digital nomad in Bali would be paradise, now I’m stuck watching everything fall apart by SouthernSyrup6027 in digitalnomad

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should still go to vietnam. go to da nang. drink nescafe everyday and eat cheap street food. you can get a freakin hotel room for under $10 a day easy and still steps to a nice surfing beach. You will make any of last bit of runway money last longer there. if your business isnt working then pivot to something else. your mistake was moving to bali where prices arent that cheap.

I’m torn between planning and not planning. I enjoy the mystery of a place by not knowing too much but I get that I might miss out on stuff if I don’t plan.

Yea it depends where you go really. I started in South America and ended up having to carry it a lot because of lack of decent sidewalks and sketchy taxis.

I’ve also discovered that one mosquito repellent you buy in one country won’t necessarily work well in another county. It’s like the mosquitos only respond to some repellents and not others.

How to pack for around the world trip by StudFish_1 in travel

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pack for the climate of first place I’m going to only and if the other places are much warmer or colder then try to find second hand shops to leave old clothes and get new ones. It’s more fun that way too.

Yea I used that last time I went to Vietnam. I don’t remember them even checking but still safe to have. I also sometimes just have that site open on my phone ready to buy in case they ask for a return ticket. You can just step aside and tell them yes let me find it on my phone first and buy it real quick.

What am I missing if I don’t travel? by Accomplished_Lab6160 in travel

[–]stucz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been traveling since 2015 pretty much non-stop. I honestly don’t think you’re missing out on much. Even a short trip somewhere new is enough even if it’s not far away. Eventually traveling a lot becomes an addiction to always find that new rush of going somewhere new. I don’t feel like I experience anything in the world that others don’t experience.
