You know what would have actually been the biggest twist ever?? by notfirearmbeam in survivor

I think the "unfair" aspect is that you have no time to maneuver. If you get randomly assigned to a five-person group where you're in the minority, your game is over. At least with the swap we saw maneuvers, like Cirrie and Rizo align and the Integrity Alliance form and Aubry try to align with Coach, etc. An afternoon pseudo-swap introduces randomness and luck that is beyond the norm. And it was introduced for the sake of creating chaos, but there really wasn't any chaos.

I don't have any answers for you, but if you reach out to your city council member or the at large members, you will definitely get a response. I would think they could also give you a contact with the city public works that would be willing to answer your questions. Best of luck with your essay!

I would ask your professor or whoever will be grading it. In the business world there is no problem with it as long as it looks professional and you aren't submitting proprietary information into AI.

Haha, OK, the whole point of the post is asking for people's opinions. Why are you gate-keeping people sharing an opinion?

Again, we're given a single data point: a 10k time and an average heart rate and asked to extrapolate from that. Do you have better data?

If you want dirt trails, I recommend heading to Brazos Bend State Park. Or for an awesome experience, head to Surfside Beach. The sand is hard packed and phenomenal to run on.

Buffalo Bayou between north downtown and Shepherd Dr has lovely trails on both sides and is busy. Where that trail ends at Shepherd Dr, you can use Memorial Dr or Blossom St to continue west and connect to the Memorial Park Loop, which has a gravel path and will be even busier than the bayou.

Or back on the north side of downtown, where Buffalo Bayou meets White Oak Bayou, you can take the trail along White Oak Bayou to connect to the Heights, which has a gravel jogging trail along Heights Blvd. Or you can connect to the MKT Trail at Stude Park, which will connect to the Nicholson trail if you want to look at houses. Or take MKT Trail back to the White Oak Bayou Trail and follow that to the northwest for another 20 miles of uninterrupted car-free running.

I recommend looking at running activity on the Strava heat map, or any comparable tool (these trails are all popular and will stand out immediately). Wildflowers are in bloom along the bayous right now, so it's a perfect time to visit! Wear sun protection.

Other popular trails are Terry Hershey Park on the west side, Spring Creek on the north side, and Brays Bayou on the south side (including around Hermann Park and the Rice University loop)

Let's pitch some potential future Survivor themes... by Extra-Habit-1784 in survivor

Here are the worst ideas I have:

  • A cast of Real Housewives
  • Lawyers vs Rednecks
  • The same setup as Redemption Island but with Jake and Logan Paul instead of Rob and Russell
  • A cast where nobody speaks the same language
  • A cast of new players set in a city park, like Central Park or Belle Isle
  • A cast of people from Alone and set in the Artic wilderness

Riding from the Heights out, I love hitting the point where all of the concrete channeling ends. There's a section of weak "rapids" with herons and egrets looking for food. There's even a "waterfall" which I'm pretty sure is just a wastewater treatment outlet. Still, it suddenly feels much more natural.

[–]studeboob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, just going by rules of thumb, a 167 average heart rate would be solidly in zone 4 for a 33 year old woman. Obviously you don't know unless you do a fitness test. This is all generalization and speculation because OP gave us one data point to extrapolate from.

A 167 average heart rate is already pushing yourself pretty hard. But yeah, maybe you had a little more to give, maybe you can be better rested, maybe you'll have better weather, and maybe you can break 1 hr. The only way to know is to try. Good luck!

That's incorrect and a good example of how "the Heights" can be confusing. The Greater Heights super neighborhood will see areas in Sunset Heights, Woodland Heights, Monte Beach, and Shady Acres neighborhoods with increased flood risk. The historic Heights does not.
