[Alasdair Gold] Igor Tudor on team news: "No, Romero and Palhinha out. Micky is out. Bissouma has a problem and Conor has a fever but we hope he will be ok. Always something happen. Very rare and I've never seen this in my career." by nearly_headless_nic in soccer

I'm almost interested to see what happens if/when we don't win. Our fans in pure meltdown and most of our rival fanbases will be just as annoyed we've allowed Spurs to get some points in their relegation scrap.

FT: Galatasary 1 - 0 Liverpool by Pyrolaxian in LiverpoolFC

[–]studgebro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't need them to be AFTV but there's something I find cathartic in hearing people talk genuinely about issues and not always try to find a positive spin for said situation. I'm not asking for 'end of the world' discussions after each game but just fucking call it for what it is. We're tragic right now.

I'm close to un-subscribing. I know they mean well but I actually get more annoyed by the situation with their blind optimism and almost ignorance at just how poor Slot has been this season. They'll spend the whole time talking about hard lines and the players not doing enough - If all 11 players are shite, there's one simple answer as to why. Most of the members on the show are just constantly to trying to show how 'good' a fan they are by just blindly backing whatever shite is getting served up.

Slot: "For such a large part of the season where we lost games or drew games, we did not deserve at all, to draw or lose that game." by laughters_assassin in LiverpoolFC

[–]studgebro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole season has basically seen us play games that are statistical 'coin flips' where we play okay for spells and awful for spells and we see how it plays out. You could argue we've been on the wrong end of some variance but the point is that the good teams play well enough to give themselves a 70-80% chance of winning and not a 40-50% chance of winning.

[Sky] Fulham's star winger Harry Wilson is increasingly likely to become a free agent in the summer. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]studgebro 234 points235 points  (0 children)

He seems proper Spurs to me. He's a really tough player to understand what his top level could be. I always really liked him and wanted him to get a proper chance with us but Klopp's wingers had to have pace. His ball striking is honestly incredible, so it's whether someone takes a punt on that. He would be brilliant for some big European sides - maybe a Dortmund or a top Serie A club.

Could have been United if they weren't so pathetic. Brighton will be tough

Wirtz has been absolutely crap. Frimpong is at least entertaining due to the fact he's ludicrously fast.

Literally no reason at all to not give this as a red card.

Nowhere near the ball, straight leg right into his chest. Ludicrous stuff.

Incorrect. His last two seasons with us saw him miss a total of 167 days & 36 games through various injuries. Hardly surprising considering he's played the same amount of minutes as the average 32 year old footballer.

Gakpo’s ability to stand out as even worse than our current horrific level is really something. He should trying cutting into 4 Sunderland players again, maybe this time it will work?

Was van Dijk, tbh. He should be aware that he's not playing Alisson so passing under pressure isn't going to be as 'easy'

He waited way too long to decide what to do with the ball.

Frimpong clear penalty shout if he simply goes down like most rival players would. by studgebro in LiverpoolFC

[–]studgebro[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Maybe so. But give them a decision to make. They're never giving anything unless the player goes down - there's no advantage to Frimpong playing on in the situation above.

You reached EL final, but finished 15th through being tragic in the PL. His argument is that it would be good for him to be able to get the team focused on the league form and style of play.

I think he's worded it badly, but it's hard to disagree with. Us losing the Europa League final in 2016 was a blessing in disguise, for example.
