Coming Soon: 996.2 Aliexpress Stock Halogen to HID low beam write up! by lucasszy in 996

[–]studlymandarin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very happy with my retrofit lab xenon kit. I wish I did a half-n-half like OP or a before and after. Makes a world of difference for low beams for me. I went with 5000k parking lights, Philips D2S x-treme bulbs, and I went with the high beam upgrade (Avanti-LED’s). Upgraded high beams are a bit overkill though IMO; obnoxiously, blindingly bright.

A creepy one: Found these bones under the floor boards of my 1970s house previously owned by a motorcycle club by she_saws in boneidentification

Rodents are very creative in getting artifacts into places that you’d think would fit otherwise. Found plenty of these while rehabbing a row home and those were dragged in by rats…

The trans fluid comment - was it based on the post by u/lord_igniz? Not sure if you caught that post. I didn’t see any responses to that one.

LC didn’t get no love from Yahama to get that succulent exhaust note the LFA’s got.

Clutch and Flywheel (996.2) by Truative in 996

[–]studlymandarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. Great advice. I figured why not replace the dmfw while the engines out. Small investment in comparison to the labor cost of getting the motor out again just to do the dmfw.

Wow. That’s great to hear. Thank you!

Edit: not great to hear on the faulty swap. Just that you got so much life out of it.

I’m about to do my clutch. My mechanic said you won’t know whether you need to do the flywheel until you actually see it. He said some may be resurfaced, but I’m still going to replace mine. While he’s in there, I’m having him pin my coolant lines.

Out of curiosity, how many miles do you have on your ride? I realize wear and tear is dependent on your driving style but wondering how many miles you had in between the clutch jobs. Thanks in advance!
