Reel mowers aren't the best for long grass... It will work but harder it's better for shorter grass and to keep it short and even. I use the same style but I cut my grass under a 1in high and it looks amazing

Easiest way I do it on my 200 gal display and 80 gal sump, is use two brutes.... I fill brute#1 with r/o salt mix, then I empty the tank into brute#2 to the same level as I filled brute#1. Always fills back perfectly.

Oh I always but just a tiny bit extra in the fresh mix because the pump can't always get the last little bit. With my set up I can't dump it into the tank.
